Rockstar1 is an after thought
Default Could a Rock like 2003, but face work?

I just couldn't believe Rock being owned on the mic by Punk. I was sitting and watching and constantly thinking "2003 Rock would've owned his monkey ass"
Imagine Rock now coming out in his 2003 leather outfit and having that same charsima as he did that year. I think that was his best year as a mic worker ever. Also his leather oufit was badass and hope we will see him in it again.

Why would Rock want to own punk when wwe has wasted 400+ days just building him.

Stating "You're stepping in the ring with God" was more comical than anything. It reeked of obvious bullshit.

Exactly, the Rock should want to make Punk look as good as possible so more people buy their PPV match.....
Seriously, the Rock goes out of his way to always mention "how he knows punk is a dangerous guy"
I think people lose sight of what wrestling is sometimes and get caught up on person X owned person Y.

First off, Punk didn't own anyone. That was a great back and forth with both men proving why they're the best. No one got owned, both came looking out great.

Secondly, you're the most annoying type of fan out there. The type that don't get it. You don't get that the wrestlers aren't supposed to own each other when they're making promos. It's not about burning someone, it's about getting people to buy the PPV and putting butts in the stadiums. Why would the Rock tear CM Punk down? He's trying to put him over. No one is going to buy a show where the top feud is completely one-sided. If you think otherwise, you're a moronic, ignorant mark. Seriously, think a little.

This exactly!! Promo is short for promotion or promoting. The whole point of cutting a promo in wrestling is to promote and sell the feud/match/PPV.

Why the hell would he do that? That'd be the dumbest thing for this feud. Why would you want him to "own" Punk? Since he's the bigger star and the legend, he should make Punk seem as legitimate as possible so that their match not only gets more interest but in turn more ppv buys. C'mon now.Pretty simple.

Nah, there is no need for it. Like ROGERTHAT21 said, it was a great back and fourth promo encounter as they were showing everybody why they should pay to see two of the best going at it. The Rock doesn't need to "own" Punk. That does nothing for the feud as people want to see these two go at it.

Also, The Rock's Versace shades and silk shirts > The Rock's leather outfit.
