Totally different. Austin/Rock WM17 feud was between two full time wrestlers, two established and the biggest stars of their time going against each other on the A-show PPV, wrestlemania. These type of feuds draw on name value alone. Same with Rock/Cena, two huge stars one-on-one for the first time ever on the A-show. Once again, something thats going to draw based on the starpower involved regardless of the pay per view build.
Rock/Punk is not even comparable to either feuds. It isn't billed as once-in-a-lifetime event or as clash of generations. It's a feud between a part time entertainer and a guy thats struggling to be a top star despite being the longest reigning champion in modern history. This isn't going to draw on starpower, a strong PPV build is essential.
WM 19 bombed on PPV, stop posting that Sacramento video over and over. It only weakens your argument.
Anyways, I am not looking forward to this. Bunch of juvenile unfunny corny jokes and repeated suck-up to the crowd with terrible material as as usual. Thanks, but I'll pass. The promo last week was great and built up the PPV really well, why even bother with this concert crap now?
Oh god no. His concert thing he did last year was crap....i love the rock and all usually but his concert last year was boring. Hoping punk inturupts at the start

I thought it was awesome, and apart from The Rock's stupid comedy with the cookie puss thing and whatnot, he did well but obviously I'm gonna say Punk schooled his ass and proved once and for all he's better because he did.

Which is what we have gotten on Raw & Smackdown so far. I don't think it will change just because of the Rock concert.
Also, WM19 bombed for various reasons but WM28 is the most bought PPV in wrestling history and it had a Rock concert in the build. So maybe it worked one time and maybe it didn't the other time. This feud is personal and intense but they are not going to stop Rock from adding in his jokes and crowd interaction. It's not going to happen. It's not going to be 100 percent all serious "I hate you" blood feud for the entire program if that's what you're expecting. Like you said, he's an entertainer.
