The more traditional heel/face dynamic in the Punk/Rock feud allows them to really shoot off at each other without worrying about the jockeying for position that is found in a face/face feud. Punk's promo was top notch, Rock brought the crowd energy into it and their interactions look legit with great chemistry. Where Cena/Rock seemed to be more about not tarnishing the other guy too much, this looks to be a feud with the gloves off. The intensity is much higher than Cena/Rock, but it obviously lacks the enormity due to the drop in star power.
Rock/Stone Cold had a great fued when both were faces. HBK/Undertaker had a great fued when both were faces. It can be done but it has to be done right. However, when have you ever heard a face booed so loudly like Cena was going into Wrestlemania, even in his hometown? That is what I believe ruined that fued.
If there is another match between the two, I hope they just focus on Cena's loss to Rock and his willingness to do whatever it takes to get the win. Build the match like they did WM 17 with Rock/Stone Cold.
