Nothing. John Cena will simply Rise Above Hate.

This faggot has had the worst year in his career and in this year has had so many good spots for a change in character and hes still the faggot he is. John Cena will never EVER change

The thing that would rattle any wrestler...crickets. That coupled with merchandise declining would probably make cena shake things up.

Which is the absolute worst thing a wrestler would want. Too bad the smarks aren't bright enough to catch on to that concept and give him a reaction every night.

Nothing, unfortunately. They had a chance with the Kane/Rock/Brock stuff, and even with the Nexus, but it was just easier to keep him the "overcome the odds, superhero" character. He'll retire as that character, having beaten Rock clean at Wrestlemania 29, then ending the streak at Wrestlemania 30, and WWE will likely find some records for him to break, like Flair's world title record, or become IC champion, so he will have held every title. He may also continue to kill people's momentum to the very end.

As pessimistic as this sounds, WWE hasn't given us a reason not to think this will happen, based on their lack of creativity with the character over the last 6 years.

It would take most of his fans turning on him for him to start to really care.

The people who hate him now are the same people that hated him last year, the year before that, and the year before that.

He doesn't give a shit about those people, and rightfully so. I hope he never does. Cena doesn't need to justify their tired and blind opinions with a heel turn since his fans vastly outnumber his haters.

If you went through 5 years of your career with the same handful of people at the office disliking you, will you give a shit 5 years later? Most likely not. They're losers to you who you couldn't possibly care less about pleasing. I'd bet anything that is exactly how Cena feels about everyone who doesn't like him. "Same shit different day" mentality by everyone who doesn't like him.

You guys never give him any props even when he does well, so why should he care what you think much less care what you'd like him to do?

I think realizing that even after this far in his career he is still not as respected as much as The Undertaker. What is the biggest thing Cena would have to do in order to really push his "Rise above hate" theme? That would be ending The Undertaker's Streak, but without turning heel. You all would go nuts, and I know I am going to get heat for this, but it makes the most sense. So many of us have asked why hasn't this man turned heel. What if he doesn't have to, but the fans just overwhelmingly boo him?

As Cena has said, he isn't going to change. He may speak his mind more in response to the amount of trash, and booing being directed his way. Believe me folks, if Cena were to end Taker's Streak he wouldn't have to cheat, or lie to do it. Taker just like Andre put over Hogan, The Undertaker has to do the same for Cena. This is Andre/Hogan all over again folks. Hogan/Andre made wrestling, and this is Taker/Cena's last chance to make wrestling boom again with history repeating itself on the greatest stage of them all. Cena ending Taker's Streak will be the single greatest moment of John's career of all time, and the most talked about thing in wrestling for a very long time.

Like I said Cena doesn't have to turn heel, he just has to defeat The Undertaker, and the fans will just despise him. Basically he becomes a tweener, and the complete opposite of Austin. Cena ends up being the bad boy tweener that most fans would simply not like. He would have a minority of younger males 15-20 who would be heavy in to his bad boy character. It would be the exact opposite of what it is now. The fans who boo him would eventually cheer him again. Austin was this legit bad guy, alcoholic, he swore, finger profanities, beat up his boss, beat up Santa, and numerous of other "bad" things. While all that time the fans loved him.

Cena has the chance to be something much different, but just as big in terms of character. Yes, it is a "PG" era, but that doesn't mean Cena can't speak his mind. As far as he is concerned the fans turned their backs on him. Cena says he hasn't changed, and won't ever change. He explains perhaps that it was Undertaker's time to realize that this is John Cena's yard now. This prompts Cena to have a new t-shirt titled "My Yard". John explains that he is here to start a new era, and chapter in the WWE that will live on just like Hulkamania, or even The Attitude Era.

Never pictured it that way, but I can see it going down like that. I would actually respect Cena a lot more if this did happen.

Backstage, he was rattled years ago. It eats at him he will never be accepted like the top stars of yesterday. Even Bret, lesser draw he may be, never got booed out of the arena (especially in his home town/country).
