If everyone who, as you said sold like a "bawws" and was "good" on the mic got pushed, then there would be very few midcard wrestlers on the roster. And then being a main eventer would mean nothing.
Does every entertaining wrestler have to be a main eventer? The IWC mindset is that you're a nothing if you're not a main eventer, when truthfully, there has to be midcarders in wrestling too. There's always a thread about why so and so needs to be main eventing, or be a world champion, or a future hall of famer... blah blah blah. Not everyone is designed to be a top player, and honestly, if Slater is what a top player looks like, then the future is a grim one. I like Slater too, but he's in the position that best fits him.
