Punk may have had the more substantive and more memorable promo, but The Rock did what The Rock does best. He electrified.

The Main Headliner

This. Younger people I guess truly won't "get it" and haters refuse to admit it but like it or not the Rock is one of the most popular wrestlers ever (ranks there with hogan and austin, and was/is more succesful than both in terms of having that poster boy success out of the company that Vince wants). Plus hes basically the definition of charisma. He also adjusts with the crowds. If he gets booed he'll make the crowd hate him too. What I'm most impressed by is his reaction after not even being on live tv for 7 years. That was incredible, and the fact that the face of the company for 6-7 years at the time had Cheers taken away from him and was basically overshadowed is a testament to how big the rock is and even moreso was. Also; he's basically unmatched when it comes to crowd participation and control; that's a very key and IMO overlooked element of his success.

He's just awesome at what he does. He electrifies. He also doesn't need to break kayfabe or the fourth wall. I mean yeah, he said Punk failed at what he said he was gonna do, which he did, but that was directed at the character.

There is a reason he is the greatest of all times they way he can handle the crowd is something you see once in your life he simple knows how to grab you and make you say what he wants,its pure talent simple as that.
