Re: Does Dolph Need All This?

WWE just won't let him off the leash. They obviously don't trust him going out there alone. He's been partnered up with someone his whole career. Well, I think he was alone during "Hi, I'm Dolph Ziggler".

There's nothing to unleash. He's not good on the mic. Am I the only one who saw him bomb going up against Cena last Monday?

Re: Does Dolph Need All This?

Is he talented enough to go solo? Sure
Should he be going solo any time soon? I'd rather he didn't. I like this mini stable thing they got going with AJ and Big E, and against peoples' immediate fears of AJ overshadowing him etc it really does look like, unlike during his run with Vickie, Ziggler is the focal point in this one. I personally want to see where this goes. I say put the WHC and the Diva's Championship on them during Mania and give them a few months long heel powercouple run before they go their seperate ways.

Re: Does Dolph Need All This?

yeah he needs his own run before he gets a stigma of not being able to run in the pack by himself

Re: Does Dolph Need All This?

Yes. Although I don't mind the thing they're with him, AJ, and Big E Langston - although it kinda've reminds me of Brian Kendrick/Ezekiel Jackson from a few years ago - I've wanted him to go solo for a while now. Because although he did get a bunch of heat once in a while during the thing with Vickie, and this AJ thing is kinda've interesting, we all know he would do just fine solo.

Because he's great on the mic, he doesn't need Vickie or AJ or Big E Langston to talk for him, he showed that last Monday and a few other times, so.. Eventually they need to cut the crap and let him go 100% on his own.

But then again, maybe they're having him paired with AJ/Langston so that way they distract his opponent so he can get the heel victory occasionally which means he'll get boo'ed, which means, he'll get the heat he needs because he's a heel.

So...

Re: Does Dolph Need All This?

Ziggler and AJ are good together, cuz Ziggler is the arrogant pretty boy who "steals your g/f." We're supposed to be jealous of him for dating AJ (I'm not even sure if that makes AJ a heel, cuz she wasn't a heel when Daniel Bryan was her asshole b/f). Big E Langston is meaningless right now, though, and so he's with Ziggler for his own sake, not to help Ziggler.

Langston was pretty good in NXT, always insisting on a five-count. I don't know why, upon reaching the main roster, he does absolutely NOTHING but stand there with no expression whatsoever. I've seen years and years of bad acting, but I've never seen someone do NOTHING like Langston has been doing. Even Jack Swagger showed some emotion compared to this.

WWE favorites: Punk, Sheamus, Lesnar, Ambrose, Rollins, Reigns,
Del Rio, Orton, Bryan, Ziggler, Wyatt, Usos, Cesaro, Mysterio, Kane
DGPW: Doi, Yoshino, Tozawa, Yamato, Dragon Kid, BxB Hulk, Ricochet, Super Shisa
NJPW: Okada, Nakamura, Styles ROH: Briscoes, Fish and O'Reilly, Young Bucks
All-Time: Rock, Punk, Lesnar, Angle

He didn't bomb. He was fine on the mic last Monday, it's just that Cena is so much better than him and it showed. Plus, Cena got to break kayfabe a little while talking about Dolph, Ziggler didn't get to do the same.

Re: Does Dolph Need All This?

Of course he's talented enough to go solo, but why should he? Would Triple H's feud with The Rock in 2000 have been better without DX and the McMahons? Okay, some of the matches definitely would have been better without all the run-ins, but otherwise I'm pretty sure it made for some damn fine entertaining television.

Obviously AJ and Big E are incomparable to the aforementioned, but the idea here is that a top heel being a "lone wolf" isn't necessarily better at all.

Re: Does Dolph Need All This?

First they need to give the boot to Langston. I know, they do this once in a while where they have a guy have a big black almost near 300 pound monster as their bodyguard, but come fucking on, the guy doesn't even TRY to look intimidating. He looks bored out there. If anything, they should give him the boot and keep him on NXT until he learns to do decent intimidating/scary faces like past monsters did. Fucking snort and breathe heavily or something. Make the person who's insulting AJ or Dolph know that you shouldn't fuck with them or else you'll get absolutely massacred. Don't just sit there with a poker face. And not to mention he needs to do stuff other than that one move he did to Cena on his RAW debut.

And he's a solid competitor! I've seen his work on NXT, the five count thing is cool. Either people in the back on RAW/SmackDown are limiting him to death and holding him back right now because they're mainly focusing/giving time to Dolph & AJ or something.

Worked-shoots aren't the key to good mic work. That's sort of a hold over from the Russo way of booking Nitro. John Cena was 100 times better than him, but it had nothing to do with content. It had to do with delivery and John's own natural charisma.

As an aside, what could Ziggler even say if he was going to shoot? Cena can't wrestle? He gets that all the time. You're dating my ex? Who cares (and it'd muddy the issue surrounding AJ). Even CM Punk's shoot, for all the hype it gets, all he really said is, I am better than John Cena. Punk has better delivery than Ziggler, so people will listen to what he has to say (his problem is he looks like a homeless man).
