If there was the equivalent of the old WWF to oppose the current WWE, things might look grim. But there isn't. There's no competition, there's no-one to buy out WWE. TNA is neither good enough of a product or a rich enough company. WWE will be fine, but it really is sad to see how many similarities there are to the dying WCW.

Not 'The end of Nitro vs the end of RAW.

Although I could make an argument for the end of RAW on the USA Network. This week drew a 2.31. The USAN can purchase a show for half the price of RAW that'll get that rating. Why shouldn't they?
Not in the 18-35 demographic. They get a young audience 52 weeks a year. Thats great AD space.

And Ryback has yet, nor will he ever, put 40000 in a dome in 4 days.

Ryback will never be even 1/10th as over as Goldberg was. He just lacks the charisma Goldberg had.

Goldberg, Hogan, Austin, & Rock were over to a degree that no one active will ever reach. Ever.

Top post. It's funny that for all the things WWE chastised WCW for, they are doing the exact same. Alarm bells should be ringing with how they're relying on old stars to prop up a tired, withered and out-of touch product. Sooner or later the Chickens will come home to roost.

Mayorga on facing Vargas: I'm going to give Vargas the chance to cash his last paycheck. I would like to say publicly that Fatty Vargas has always feared me. I conceded to take this fight at 162 pounds because fatty couldn't lose any more weight. I will do Vargas a favor by retiring him in this fight so his family doesn't have to suffer every time he steps in the ring. I'm going to do his wife a favor and not let her cry anymore.

I'd put Warrior there too. It was brief, but you can't deny he was over as anyone in the history of the business.

I like that list a lot. I also didn't really realize that all the major matches (with HHH, Undertaker, Punk, Rock, Brock, Cena) that we're supposed to look forward to are including guys from the AE. So it's like a 're-live your old days!', but they still keep the WWE at PG level. They can't produce two things at once apparently.
