Because he wasn't booked as a strong champ before Raw 1000? You know what, why don't you remind us again why they had turn his undrawing ass heel?

8 straight successful PPV title defenses being presented as the most strongest character on the company and NOBODY GAVE A FUCK. There's your answer.

Punk is wasted, because of WWE's lack of starpower and his reign might be 5 years, but fighting against Del Rio, Cena, Ziggler and stuff, doesn't make you credible.
He's been a "cheap heater" for his entire career, not just since RAW 1000.

And while nobody disagrees with you in that the E currently lacks star power, I'd argue that if Punk was a real main eventer, he'd make any middling opponent look good. The guys in both our avatars are very good at this, as was Austin, Rock, HBK and Hart. But Punk lacks this ability - in fact, he makes his opponents all look like shit, as opposed to giving them credibility, which is what he is supposed to be doing.

Punk is only good when he is coupled with a true main eventer - in the past, this has been Hardy and Cena, and in the near future, it will be the Rock. Against anyone else, he is exposed as the midcarder we all know him to be.

Punk chose to turn heel, it had nothing to do with drawing.

Chose to turn heel to face The Rock and Stone Cold.
There was no way face Vs face would work with Punk.
Year long title reign condition was probably a heel turn half way through.

Merch sales, DVD Sales and the fact he is still WWE champion and the longest in 25 years suggests WWE know something more than you do. If he was as awful and non drawing etc as you frequently suggest then he would have been dropped like Del Rio was.

They wouldn't have kept Punk Champ and kept him going as the longest reigning Champ in over 25 years, even going over Cena's reign if he wasn't doing something right. He's a huge draw for the company and one of the best superstars currently.

Ratings alone doesn't make you a non-draw, plus they don't lose money there. They already got guaranteed money from USA Network, so it doesn't hurt them at all short term. And of course you just ignore all the ways Punk does draw.

1. CM Punk has been WWE champion in 2011, 2012, 2013.

2. To blame one person for low ratings is moronic.

3. If he wasn't a 'draw' or success then WWE wouldn't have made him the longest WWE champion in 25 years and something like 4th longest WWE champion in history. If hes was such a failure then he wouldn't have gotten past 2 month let alone 13/14.

Also been his 2nd title reign. The 2nd coming only months after his first. He must have been doing something right.

4. Drawing doesn't just mean PPV ratings and RAW ratings. It means someone who is relevant enough in mainstream media and relevant enough to make people spend money on the product. Look at the his merchandise sales, dvd sales, WWE game cover, twitter followers, appearances on TV shows and radio shows etc.

5. Hes is feuding with The Rock followed in the future by Stone Cold Steve Austin (seems very likely). If he was such a poor draw and failure WWE wouldn't be involve him in such feuds.

6. Wrestler of the year two years in a row.

7. You have a shit load of red rep, which clearly indicates not many people value your opinion.

Whether you like him or not is irrelevant as we are all entitled to our likes and dislikes. But instead of randomly posting links to ratings (which fans shouldn't be to bothered about) at least be able to make an articulate link between 'low' ratings and the product. Like faster internet speeds, streaming, tevo, sky plus, illegal downloads, NBA/NFL/UFC/MLB competition, natural disasters, recession, lack of star power to compete against, THREE HOUR RAWS killing the product, transitional talent period, incompetent booking, too many new WWE programmes.
