Re: What's left for guys like Punk, Cena and to a lesser extent, Orton?

Punk
He has got plenty. He still needs to headline Wrestlemania and win a Royal Rumble. He's only had two memorable feuds during his entire time in the company too, against Jeff Hardy and John Cena, apart from that they're all fodder. He could take on the Undertaker at Wrestlemania before his time is up too, although there is 0% chance of him winning.

John Cena
Again he has a lot he can do, but it all requires change. He desperately needs a heel run before he retires, which should come sooner rather than later. I'd also like to see him take on The Undertaker at next years Wrestlemania, which would be the perfect catalyst for said heel turn. And he needs a feud with the next top guy, whoever that may be.

Randy Orton
Orton has fallen from the graces of being a top guy to an upper mid card act at best. I believe this could change if he was repackaged as a heel and put back onto primarily Raw again. I wouldn't mind seeing him lead a stable (as long as it's handled better than The Legacy were) and have some decent back and forths with up-and-comers. He's the youngest of the three, yet unfortunately has the least left to really do.

Edit: I also love the power-trip idea that someone through out, with any combination of the three of these guys, would be epic.

.

Cena- Heel turn.

Orton- Heel turn.

Punk- He still have lot to accomplish, like:
-Winning Royal Rumble.
-Headlining Wrestlemania.
-Clean win over a big name. Career upper midcarder like Jericho doesn't count.

Orton is worse than Punk by every standard. I think WWE just pushed him since he was young since he has the 'look' and decent acting ability. CM Punk is better in every way, including having a unique look. Alos, Orton may be one steroid violation away from the TNA penalty.

WWE favorites: Punk, Sheamus, Lesnar, Ambrose, Rollins, Reigns,
Del Rio, Orton, Bryan, Ziggler, Wyatt, Usos, Cesaro, Mysterio, Kane
DGPW: Doi, Yoshino, Tozawa, Yamato, Dragon Kid, BxB Hulk, Ricochet, Super Shisa
NJPW: Okada, Nakamura, Styles ROH: Briscoes, Fish and O'Reilly, Young Bucks
All-Time: Rock, Punk, Lesnar, Angle

Cena - the easy one, Heel turn and a run as top heel

Punk - Not much more for him, as he is most likely going ot be doen with wrestling in 2-3 years, ME a Wrestlemania

Orton - I think the WWE has reached the point with him where he is as high on the card as hes going to get, and he will be destined to be the guy you go over as your last step to the top pf the card for the rest of his WWE days

John Cena (36 in April)
Body will start to really break down by the age of 38 due to working such a killer schedule. Will take a year out to work on movies and recover. Return as he approaches 40 for another run, after Vince's hand picked top guys - Sheamus, Ryback, Roman Reigns, Big E Langston etc) fail to replicate his merchandise sales. Will have a long running top feud, which he will win, against Dean Ambrose. Cena will lose cleanly to Ryback and Sheamus.

CM Punk (35 in October)
At least two more world title reigns. Will put over his buddies (Chris Hero and Daniel Bryan) and 'retire' by 2015. Will return as an announcer and eventually be tempted to work the occasional PPV special attraction.

Randy Orton (33 in April)
Another heel run. Earnt millions since 2004, so takes some time out in his mid 30s. Will then return after 18-24 months for another run as a babyface.

Re: What's left for guys like Punk, Cena and to a lesser extent, Orton?

Cena - Have a run as a main-event heel.

Punk - Win a royal rumble + headline a Wrestlemania. Also, have a run where he is legitimately "The Man" and headlines every ppv, regardless of whether or not he is WWE champion, similar to John Cena last year.

Orton - I guess turn him heel again? Don't know, WWE's done everything they can with Orton I think.

Cena has never been Intercontinental Champion. Let him win the IC belt and complete the Triple Crown (U.S. Title doesn't count). With Cena as IC Champ, they can unify the World Titles and make the IC Title #2 again.

Re: What's left for guys like Punk, Cena and to a lesser extent, Orton?

Cena - More boring feuds, a few more decent Punk matches and at least 3 more WWE Titles. Oh, and years of corniness still to come!

Punk - More great matches, more great promos, at least one more face fun and at least two more championships and will probably put over a few people, then retire in the next 3-5 years.

Orton - A few decent matches, maybe one more title, several more concussions and another Wellness Policy violation and then forced retirement.

Punk needs to main event a wrestlemania, Cena needs to turn heel, and Orton just can do nothing.

Now it's my believe that guys like Cena, Punk and Orton are going to stay at the top of the pack but how do you push the new guys while still leaving the above guys as the top guys?

What is left for the likes of Punk, Cena and Orton to accomplice that can keep them at the top?

I'm expecting a lot of HHH style burials of new talent from Cena. Wouldn't surprise me if we see Cena go over guys like Ryback and Sheamus cleanly in the coming future.
Sheamus is halfway to 40, and Ziggler will never be a huge star because he flat out sucks at everything except over selling like a bitch.

When it comes to the future look no further than The Shield and Bray Wyatt.
