It seems like an unnecessary risk that even if successful would have very little reward. Let us say that Vickie Guerrero did transition into an over babyface. Where does that put us? She would just be a babyface female non-wrestling authority figure? That doesn't get us anywhere. That is A.J. without being able to work matches & I think if people have to choose between cheering for the young, spunky & pretty girl or the older, weathered (seasoned?) woman, they will choose the former.
I think the WWE wanted a face female GM who went over with the crowd... and it is true that AJ gets her share of cheers. But most people would agree that AJ's run has been kinda of weird... the skipping, the slanted head moves, the bizarre love angle with Cena, etc...
I think the payoff of a face Vickie would be what the WWE always wanted from AJ... a female GM who the crowd could cheer for without it being AJ strange.
And plus, Zigller has to dump her eventually (didnt the Macho Man get rid of Elizabeth when he made it big?)... once Ziggler gets rid of her do you just stick her with another young talent and put her in that cougar role again? It would be kind of refreshing to see a character with a different persona... isnt that what people hate about RAW now? That it is stale? At least this is some change... if it doesnt work oh well
