I think the WWE wanted a face female GM who went over with the crowd... and it is true that AJ gets her share of cheers. But most people would agree that AJ's run has been kinda of weird... the skipping, the slanted head moves, the bizarre love angle with Cena, etc...
I think the payoff of a face Vickie would be what the WWE always wanted from AJ... a female GM who the crowd could cheer for without it being AJ strange.
And plus, Zigller has to dump her eventually (didnt the Macho Man get rid of Elizabeth when he made it big?)... once Ziggler gets rid of her do you just stick her with another young talent and put her in that cougar role again? It would be kind of refreshing to see a character with a different persona... isnt that what people hate about RAW now? That it is stale? At least this is some change... if it doesnt work oh well
