I freaking love Observer...the shittiest shit. -watching raw with a promo that looked like Del Rio was more face then heel- "dang, we need to write this down as a story on our website now, Del Rio is pretty much turning baby face now".

He's a natural heel, similar to Miz who I said months ago when people were asking for Miz to turn, it wouldn't work. Why do they want another babyface anyway? Their pretty stacked at the moment and need the ones already turned over first.
Roster is in a bit of a mess to be honest, They need to turn Orton for their to be another top heel other than Punk and Show, Miz turn is awful he needs to be tweaked into a 'tweener, because him trying to play full on babyface is awful. he was getting good pops in mid 2011 by just being 'The Miz'.

he was a top babyface his whole career in Mexico before joining the WWE.

I would love it if they retooled Del Rio as a badass cynical aloof snarker but otherwise kept the rich man gimmick sans the accent. Make him a loner who while being largely amicable with the other faces doesn't have any particular interest in being friends with the other faces and may even make smart quips about them if they get in his business and is ultimately more concerned with kicking ass in the ring than anything else but is ultimately moral whenever possible and has the faces backs when they need it. Del Rio seems like the kind of guy with the personality to make it work.

The problem is that I don't think Del Rio is charismatic enough to make anything work. The best option would probably be to have him get 'injured' and then put a mask on him as someone said, but I feel like he'd manage to screw that up somehow too, the guy just has no ability to connect with a crowd. TBH I'd prefer Ricardo to be pushed ahead of him.
