It certainly looks that way. I don't oppose it by any means, I'm becoming a fan of him. I'd just rather superior talents like Barrett & Sandow break into the main event scene first.
With that being said though, he's doing a great job and is probably my favourite in ring worker at the moment.
at barrett and sandow being superior.
Wade and Sandow will never be top guys.

I don't think he's the "next" breakout star because that's clearly Ryback... but this guy is absolutely going to be a star and World/WWE champion within the next year. At least I hope that happens for him.
Cesaro is great in the ring, but has little to no personality and needs major improvement on his mic skills, because every time he comes out to cut a promo I always mute the TV, change the channel until he's done talking, or completely ignore everything that he says. Whenever he comes out to only have a match, however, I always watch him because he usually puts on great matches. If he improves his mic skills and actually starts showing some personality, he may possibly be the next breakout star.
Hating on his gimmick is something I just don't understand. Especially when you look around the wwe and see the pool of faceless nobodies.. They give them a regular name, make them a guy that wants to wrestle and watch them float away to future endeavoredness. At least Cesaro has SOMETHING. And anti/pro American while not popular with the iwc has proved to be uber over with the average viewer for many people that have done it. Hogan, Hacksaw, Sarge, Bret More recently Kurt and Daivari & Muhammad Hassan could keep going. A large part of it stands on the (shudder) writers' backs to put him in situations where the gimmick gets heat. They should be doing a lot more to work around his faults though.. He shouldn't be carrying a microphone to the ring, he should be doing backstage recorded segments, that they can edit and work so he looks better than he is. His in ring mic work should be kept to a minimum if for no other reason than language barriers.. Though as I already said THE MAN SPEAKS 5 LANGUAGES. That is impressive enough for me, personally to overlook flaws in his promos.
We're fully aware of that, but it doesn't change anything. I guess Ryback's better than Cesaro since he's a star right now. Cesaro's better in the ring but big whoop, that's nothing. They have far more personality, compared to Cesaro who's completely wooden, especially Sandow who is approaching CM Punk levels of greatness.

^This is basically what I was going to say. As the US Champion, an anti-American gimmick is perfect for Cesaro. When he moves on from that, he'll have to evolve and find something else to freshen up his character though.

While I understand that wrestling is an entertainment business and personality is important, saying ringwork doesn't mean anything is asinine. Sandow is super entertaining & the most complete package to debut in a long time IMO, as he can talk and his work in the ring supports his character. I'm currently enjoying his run with Rhodes, but I hope Sandow gets to do his own thing soon. I like Barrett too, but with a few exceptions, his matches bore me to tears.
