Yes. The guy's a beast. He can be a solid heel in the upper midcard if given the right feud/material to work with.

Do some you guys really not like his finisher? I think it's pretty solid. Way better than the Attitude Adjustment or some weak looking shit.

Re: Antonio Cesaro = The Next Breakout Star?

He should be doing the Ricola Bomb or Alpamare Waterslide as his finisher (but I bet he'd get berated by Cena for doing something similar to an FU)

As long as there's a Triforce, there will be a Zelda;
as long as there's a prosperous kingdom, there will be an evil bent on destroying it;
and as long as there's an oppressive force threatening Hyrule, there will be a boy...

in a green tunic, silver shield, and magic blade to stand against it.

Re: Antonio Cesaro = The Next Breakout Star?

I'm loving what Cesaro is doing. Nobody has surprised me in the ring in a long time, but he seems to each match. You never seem to know what he could do next: that reverse torture rack slam on Sheamus, the body press into a backbreaker on Kofi, about 1000 ways to hit that uppercut - all of it very cool to watch.

I think his persona is too generic at this point, but you can't stop raw talent, which he has in spades.

"They will LIE to you, she said. They will try to DENOUNCE you, she said. They will try to STEAL your gift, and she was right. Sister Abigail always spoke the truth, and so do I. So when I tell you that I knew this day would come, I am NOT telling you a lie! And on this day, in this moment in time right now, this very second, I can truly say that I have the whole damn world in my hands!"

Finisher is OK relative to most WWE finishers. Compared to the rest of his moveset, though, it's kinda weak. Impressive if done on a bigger opponent, though.

edit did he do the uppercut last night? I don't recall seeing one, other than the standing one he did to the back of Kofi's head.

I wonder why he isn't using his Alpamare Waterslide that much. Move bad ass.

Cesaro is freaking awesome in the ring and has a great look. He just needs a better gimmick that he can sink his teeth into because the one he has now is boring.

Re: Antonio Cesaro = The Next Breakout Star?

I suppose I'm one of the few that actually likes his gimmick. I think it works perfectly well with him being the United States Champion. I can't help but this is another effort to make a title relevant once again, and if that is the case, it is working from my perspective. I do agree with others that he needs to change his finisher though. I've seen Cesaro almost drop a couple of people on their head/neck, and as someone else already mentioned, the handful of balls is cringeworthy. Other than that, I hope Cesaro is pushed to the main event scene eventually, although not too quickly. I wouldn't mind seeing him take the Intercontinental Title, then hold on to it for a lengthy run, bringing relevance back to it in a similar fashion before being pushed to the main event.

At the Tribute to the Troops show, Cesaro turned the USA chants back on the crowd by adopting it as "the United States of Antonio", making it a chant FOR him, not against him.

Good work for an anti-American gimmick.

so very european.

The gimmick is fine. It's the right gimmick for him, he'll play it off well. His mic work is probably never going to astound in the way the rock or austin do.. he's speaking English as a 4th or 5th language, I'm utterly impressed by that if nothing else every time I see him.
