Re: Antonio Cesaro = The Next Breakout Star?

Really like him. He isn't a bulky guy, but has a lot of definition in his arms and chest.
He seems the hungriest to succeed. Really like it, when before doing the gutwrench, he waits a few minutes.
I like his finisher. Him using that on Brodus Clay was a spectacle. Gives him a chance to show off his strength. Reminds me of styles clash.

He's great in the ring. His character bores me though.[/URL]

Of course he's a favourite on the internet, but the fact is, crowds don't give a flying fuck. His character is absolutely boring as fuck. Ring work alone won't do shit for him.

Re: Antonio Cesaro = The Next Breakout Star?

I'm officially sold on Cesaro. His matches are always the highlight of the night for me. His character really isn't that bad; he's an arrogant European guy that looks down on Americans because he thinks they're uncultured. It's a pretty relevent gimmick, since a lot of people outside the States think that. He just doesn't really seem to either be capable of or get a chance to play it in the right way. I thought it would've been a no-brainer for him to replace the U.S. title with the European Championship because he'd "much rather represent the proud people of Europe than a nation of fat, ignorant slobs." Sure, it's cheap heat, but it's still heat. Then again, might've been too much of a no-brainer. All Cesaro really has to do is take a look at some message boards, he'd find some pretty clever America-bashing material.

^furious, projects self-image onto others^

Talent/charisma draws. Not size.

Re: Antonio Cesaro = The Next Breakout Star?

Foreigners outside of Canadians can never be breakout stars let alone be main eventers in a major US promotion without resorting to anti-US gimmicks.

Different language.
Foreign mannerisms.
Culture that Americans cannot make sense of or won't even bother making sense of.

Just too many barriers.
