Re: Antonio Cesaro = The Next Breakout Star?
I'm officially sold on Cesaro. His matches are always the highlight of the night for me. His character really isn't that bad; he's an arrogant European guy that looks down on Americans because he thinks they're uncultured. It's a pretty relevent gimmick, since a lot of people outside the States think that. He just doesn't really seem to either be capable of or get a chance to play it in the right way. I thought it would've been a no-brainer for him to replace the U.S. title with the European Championship because he'd "much rather represent the proud people of Europe than a nation of fat, ignorant slobs." Sure, it's cheap heat, but it's still heat. Then again, might've been too much of a no-brainer. All Cesaro really has to do is take a look at some message boards, he'd find some pretty clever America-bashing material.
