Some of the best in the business got their start with being great sellers, take Steve Corino for example. Started out as a sidekickish Heel that antagonized the Main Eventers but always got his ass kicked and eventually had a Face turn push and became ECW Champ.

Maddox actually reminds me a bit of Corino minus the mic skills.
