Slammy Awards

Anyone know if WWE is having it this year or not?

I really wouldn't mind this airing on Christmas eve(as a taped, awards ceremony show). Like the old days of slammy awards, where it was just an entire episode of the awards show. It'd allow WWE to still put on an episode of Raw(and viewers could vote from December 4th until maybe 18th or 19th(aka the day the show gets taped)), not kill the audience with 6 hours straight of taping, and then the following week, have a "best of WWE 2012" special during the New Years Eve Raw.

Those shows are gonna do terrible in ratings anyways, so might as well put on a show like this, that requires no real effort.

Who wouldn't wanna see a slammy awards show, where the audience, is all WWE superstars IN CHARACTER lol.

Re: Slammy Awards

it should only be one of the taped shows on Christmas Eve or New Years Eve (if they don't do best of special), not like I will be around or anything, but its pointless to waste time on it, the day after TLC, in which you can close out everything & start Rumble season.

Re: Slammy Awards

The old school Slammys were cool when I was kid. It got a little stupid as I grew up, but I think it'll be okay to pull one off this year. Nothing else is going on.

I would love to see an old-style Slammy Awards night. Great idea OP.

17th is Raw after TLC which will be live
24th should be taped Raw(slammys)
31st should be taped Raw(best of show)
January 7th will be kick off new year show and preparing for rumble(3 raws then to prepare for rumble)

Rock won't appear until 2013 anyways, so no real point in having any rumble hype before then(unless they have a CM Punk promo at Slammys calling out The Rock)

Re: Slammy Awards

I think the Slammys worked back in the day but I really didn't like the last one they did.

Re: Slammy Awards

When I think Owen Hart one of the things I remember was him talking about his Slammy like it was a title win... he pretty much sold a worthless award and made it great xD

Re: Slammy Awards

I'm sure they'll put one one near the end of the month. They don't tend to have too much hype these days though, just a week or two of promotion in advance.

Re: Slammy Awards

I wouldn't mind seeing it brought back as a year end type show. Could bring a lot of attention to the product.
