Why should it matter if he booked it himself or the company booked it for him? It's still publicity is it not?

The Walking Dead is one of the most popular shows on television right now and having your WWE Champion show up on the talk show afterwards can do wonders for drawing more interest from separate audiences. Also leading a parade in a major city on Thanksgiving is, once again, great publicity that can attract different audiences. It really makes no sense business wise that the WWE isn't foaming at the mouth to promote these appearances and generate more interest.

Re: Does WWE still not support CM Punk?

Well I do think it was bullshit for WWE to not allow Punk to walk Sonnen to the ring, the extra amount of eyeballs on the WWE Champion on the road to WrestleMania at the time would have done Punk's exposure a world of good.

And then for Triple H to show up at Mayweather's side 4-5 months later must have been a kick in the teeth.

Something is up if Triple H can go to a Mayweather fight...but Punk can't go to accompany a UFC Fighter at a UFC event.

The Rock being around now, especially in the title picture is ruining a lot of great long term plans..you could have easily had Ryback head in to Wrestlemania on the hunt for the WWE Championship, setting up Cena vs Ryback with the other main events of Lesnar vs Rock and Punk vs Triple H.

The Rock and the Royal Rumble has been the long term plan since WM 28 ended. That is the long term plan, there hasn't been any other long term plans.

Re: Does WWE still not support CM Punk?

It's probably all a work... maybe one to kickstart the "revolution" where Punk finally starts forcing change after snapping. But then that would mean the WWE was doing something subtle and intricate and over months without screwing it up.... I'd love to believe they could pull something like that off but this is the WWE we are talking about.

Thanks for the wonderful memories Ultimate Warrior... happy you got to be recognised as the legend you are before you went. Rest in peace

No, WWE doesn't support him. That is why he has been the champion for an entire year.

This is actually a pretty accurate description. The patronage system is in full effect, though no guild would ever be as sloppy with its secrets as the wrestling system is.
