It's called psychology. It wouldn't make sense for him to work on the head(for example) and try the cross-arm breaker to end the match. I do agree he should engage the crowd more though.

What's the point of watching a wrestling move if not to be entertained with how it looks? Since it's not real there's no other effect to it.
And targeting the body part that's subjected to your submissions is one of the most basic things in wrestling psychology. This isn't real submission wrestling where the moves work on their own, this is about storytelling.
Re: Seriously, is Del Rio the most boring wrestler of all time?
ADR is awesome, if he spent decades in random independent leagues people wouldn't hate him so much, but because he's a diva and only been on the roster 2 years folks hate his guts.
Re: Seriously, is Del Rio the most boring wrestler of all time?
I find his matches entertaining, so no. His in ring style makes more sense than just about anyone's.
His character has been much better since he returned from that concussion, as well. People just aren't giving him a chance.

No, it isn't 'psychology'. Well it is, but it's psychology that a 7-year-old could come up with, and Del Rio literally does the exact same thing every match. I no longer watch Del Rio's TV matches because I know exactly what's going to happen. That isn't good storytelling, it's lazy, formulaic, predictable bullshit. Del Rio is one of the worst storytellers on the roster, arguably the worst apart from guys like Khali who can't work. And storytelling is the only interesting thing about wrestling in terms of ring work. Del Rio may be able to efficiently execute moves or whatever, but that doesn't mean he is good in the ring or his matches are entertaining or interesting in any way.

Re: Seriously, is Del Rio the most boring wrestler of all time?
I liked Alberto Del Rio when he was first introduced via a series of video packages. That is usually a good way to build momentum and generate some form of buzz for a new wrestler. They put him in there with the perfect Opponent In Rey mysterio, Someone who has worked the luchador style in mexico but has years upon years of experience working in the wwe , so he can aid del rio in adjusting to the new style and Help to look good. He defiantly displays charisma and can be viewed as believable. However I feel that where my interest with him faded is because they did too much with him too soon.
So not long after he debuted he is already being groomed for a wrestlmania match for the title , he wins the royal rumble but fails to win the title at mania. That did not help him. If he is suppose to start off hot and sustain that buzz he needs to keep winning instead he lost. Then he floundered for a bit. Won the mitb ladder match but was overshadowed by cm punk. When he won the title at summerslam he did not have the same momentum that he had earlier. He had the title but barely looked like a strong champion and was never presented as the main guy.
when he came back from injury this year, he was thrust right into title matches ..... two things though
the people wanted daniel bryan in that role and demanded it and secondly he had no time to re build and re establish himself. So then he is in title programs and is losing all the time . By the time we get to where we are now I would dare say I have almost little to no interest in him at all.
Re: Seriously, is Del Rio the most boring wrestler of all time?
No, I like Del Rio. Very talented, he's no good on the mic but hes trying so cut the guy a break he just learned english. how good are sin caras promos? oh..yah..nm
Also, i believe he's frustrated with wwe. I liked his matches with orton lately and really liked the one last night on raw. Orton pretty much wrestles the same match all the time, i think del rio actually has a higher arsenal than he does but orton can work the crowd.

What makes his opinion irrelevant? It's a wrestling forum, isn't that sort of the point?
BTW you forgot to put "RATINGS" in your post, it's: 1)Bigger Draw 2)CM Punk 3)Ratings. Come on, you're better than that.
