what's the storyline? that paul heyman and cm punk are heels and are making fun of someone who just nearly died, what's the point? to build another match with punk and lawler? cos um thats not going to happen for a very long time. the argument is that it just wasn't neccesary. punks already an established heel, vince mcmahon has done exactly what he wanted to do though, create controversy. paul heyman was cutting a promo, and you think he was shooting. someone who makes you think everything they say is a shoot is working you.
100% agree he knows what he's talking about, all the wimps that were crying about the scene they done dont understand its storyline stuff, king obviously agreed
Steve Austin- But when i rolled in this town i was worried, i was scared, i was nervous, i was petrified, i was horrified, you know why, cos i found out that this was a dry county, you think its funny when SCSA roles into a dry county, WHAT you think its funny WHAT.....I took debra, went to the liquor store, i loaded up with alcohol, more specifically vodka, whiskey, beer, tequila, MORE BEER, MORE VODKA, MORE WHISKEY, AND MORE BEER!!!
Are you people fucking retarded? Paul Heyman's heart attack was just a random, unfunny skit. It didn't represent the Attitude Era at all.
When people say they want the Attitude Era back they are asking for an overall better product. They want excitement, drama, wrestlers who can actually act, great characters, interesting storylines, adult promos and hardcore wrestling.
Videos like this sum up what people want when they ask for the Attitude Era.
No, the people are retarded who put some wrestler from the Attitude Era in their avatar and think they know it all. How cute to post a video from the greatest feud between the greatest two superstars from the AE and thinkng you proved something. Stop embarrassing yourself.
Yes, AE was about excitement, drama, wrestlers who can actually act, great characters, interesting storylines, adult promos and hardcore wrestling but it was also about mocking religion, racism, homicides, suicides, chopped dicks, BDSM, gang wars, sacrifices, cults, eating animals, mocking Bell's palsy, interviewing a widow 24 hours after the death of her husband, hypersexuality and many other stuff and that made AE unique.
Your very avatar was from a segment where The Rock had a funeral for Stone Cold that looked legit you little hypocrite.
Same with ECW Paul Heyman talked about. Crucifixion, woman abuse, encouraging fans to jump from a balcony and killing themselves, playing with fire in front of the fans what even burned some of them.
Attitude Era was spectacular but it was also sick and twisted simply because all other successful TV shows were sick during that time like Jerry Springer, South Park or even in music with Eminem when he first appeared or Marilyn Manson but unlike other people I am not a hypocrite and admit it and that I loved it because of that
ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS ANOTHER SHOOT INTERVIEW

I guess i can see it from both points of view, mainly because of lawlers participation, I just think heymans stretching it heavily for comparing it to the attitude era.
Vince has been mocking and making fun of serious situations ever since the attitude era, he hasnt stopped, just slowed his pace.i think vince just took the oppurtunity to collect controvery, lend cheap heel heat to punk and then heyman finished it off with a "oh, you couldn't handle that because it was extreme" promo. That last part is the part i don't agree with.
heyman himself is a hypocrite ala ravens crucifixion of the sandman. kurt angle "couldnt handle it", heyman claimed he knew nothing of it and made raven apologize.
Well, there will be many people agreeing with him I'm sure, however it will always feel uncomfortable when anybody makes fun of someone for almost dying. Whether it was now, 10 years ago or in 10 years time. I wouldn't have enjoyed that in the Attitude era.
I mean, I hope people understand where I'm coming from with this, but to me it's almost like if Owen Hart had survived his fall and Shawn Michaels came out and made fun of it all, do people think that we would have not reacted the same way in which they to the Heyman/Punk segment.
THAT wasn't the Attitude era, it wasn't extreme. They were all in on it, King especially, but it's still cheap. I was never affected by a family member being put through a table, drinking beer or the multitude of things that went on in the late 90s, however I'm sure thousands upon thousands who watched that segment felt a nerve touch.
No. People want unexpected and grittier "edginess" such as that little brawl between Ziggler and Cena. Not tasteless garbage like that. See Hawks suicide, Katie Vick, Trish barking, and the rest of the tactless garbage from that time people look back on with disgust, AE or not.
