I was seriously thinking about this. After he didn't win it from Miz, they may very well let him win and have him forfeit it.

Also, he won't be a heel. Those days are over. We can only hope JR stays around, but he might get fired on air again.

true, but at least he does the play by play(badly) and jbl gets to yell at him and make fun of him the whole show. in the end, it's a win for the viewers cuz we get entertained. on the other hand, cole sucks lawler's asspipe during raw's and it'll only be worse now that's he's coming off a heart attack. he's horrible at his job and goes unchecked. he has free reign so suck as badly as he wants and it's ok cuz he's the king. he sucks and i wish he'd go away.

Between the Raw set catching fire and Jerry's heart attack, it was hard not to read the thread title and not picture him literally on fire. Sadly, I don't see him getting better on commentary. Smackdown getting JBL is great, but it'd be better if he was on Raw.

Oh well.

0% chance. They teased the possibility last year for two reasons: (1) to honor Lawler's career, and (2) to give Miz an easy route to WrestleMania. Lawler's very respected, but WWE is very protective of the WWE Championship and wouldn't give it to a guy in his 60s. Even Sammartino was only 42 when he lost his second and final WWE Championship.

However...

That is correct. Lawler is too sympathetic a figure to turn heel at this moment, and likely too late in his career to turn heel ever again. Don't tell Hulk Hogan that, however.

Al Snow is a mediocre commentator at best, and Coach currently has his dream job. NOSTALGIA FTW.
