The last I saw of him he lost the Intercontinental title rematch with The Miz.
He's a guy the WWE can trust to do just about anything, main event, face/heel and he is so underused. Since the main event picture seems so thin at the moment (Big show, ADR, Cena and now Ryback have been the only contenders for the two main titles for the last century it seems) I think Christian should be added in here.
They wanted him off TV because he was set to appear at Bound For Glory (TNA PPV), but due to shoulder injury he never actually appeared, so I'm assuming once he is all healed up he will be back.
I was certain that he injured himself again. 2011 was a great year for him (minus the five day title reign, spanning from Extreme Rules to the following SmackDown), whereas 2012 has been terrible for him so far.
Christian should think about retirement. I am a huge fan of the guy and all, but three serious injuries in a space of 12 months is a pretty worrying sign.
All those bumps in the TLC matches are finally starting to take toll on his body.
Yeah his body isn't exactly fit anymore, which is sad really cause he alone made Smackdown entertaining in 2011. When he returns i expect WWE to make him a main eventer, they know he works as one, he is over, entertaining and has great ring skills, plus there is a big need of a main eventer on Smackdown, a 'worthy' main eventer i mean.
His shoulder is fine, that was just part of a storyline...
"Christian actually asked for time off the road as there were no major storylines planned for him and the time off would give him a chance to rest his ankle, which is still giving him some issues after injuring it last year. WWE granted the request".
I suppose one of the plus sides of being in Christians position and not a main eventer is that they are prepared to give you more time off, unlike a guy like Cena who is too important to allow this.
I've always wondered why they never did a Cena/Christian feud since he came back in 2009.
When he comes back, he needs to be thrown in the main event. They are lacking people and he is someone who can be thrown in the main event and have it look believable.
Christian was getting ridiculous reactions in 2011 until they started to really screw him over. He even got a ridiculous reaction when he hit Orton with the title the first time.
The problem is, after that, they booked him like Yoshi Tatsu for an entire year and then he got hurt.
I looked pretty terrible when he had a 3 month feud with Sheamus, never won, and had all of his impact moves kicked out at 1. What a joke.
Then when he returns from injury, instead of throwing him into a huge storyline, they basically just say "meh" by having him COME BACK ON A FREAKING PRE-SHOW!
The least they could have done is had the Battle Royal about the start on PPV and had him come back then. I didn't watch the pre-show, I just watched the PPV and I didn't even realize Christian was there for about a minute or two. Kind of stupid.
Then they change his finisher, then they change it back. And then they just did nothing with him at all. He lost to the Miz twice - thought maybe a feud was starting because he followed that up with poking Miz in the eye and beating him on RAW in a Tag-Match.
Then Christian defeated Cesaro for his first ever loss, then the week right after that (I'm guessing he asked for the time off before that), they had him lose to Sandow in 5 seconds, despite Sandow getting distracted.
They gave Christian the jobber entrance so many times on RAW in the past year.
If he came back and they actually made a big deal of it, he'd be over again. No doubt.
Christian is making #DemMonies sat on the sidelines, watching his friends all work.
