Yea, he's one of those dolts who thinks Vince and Hunter will ever let him surpass Sheamus and Ryback on the totem pole, nevermind John Cena. He thinks getting squashed by Big Show in 3 minutes and hiding behind Kane and having everyone call him the weak link and a loser whether it be from a face, heel, or commentator is a "push".

I do have one question for anyone who might feel that Dwayne Johnson "owes" the business. Is it just him, or is it anyone who moved on to other things? Should Luna Vachon get heat for running a towing company instead of working on RAW? Should Maven be critiqued on his Home Shopping Network bits instead of wrestling?

Or is it only the ones who go on to highly visible careers in movies that owe something? Why do Johnson (who left after putting people over, doing the traditionally "right thing") and Lesnar (who did not; except for making Eddie a legitimate star) get called sell-outs who "forgot where they came from" when someone who retires to do some regular job get credit (as they should) for moving on and making it without falling into a sea of addiction?

This, pretty much. The most DB will ever get is putting Main Eventers over and doing comedy skits. WWE is not merit driven, but money (drawing) and politically driven.

Re: Chris Jericho's Theory on Punk's Heel Turn

Ric Flair, one of the GOATs, was #1 as a heel. People hated him and came out by the tens of thousands and put out hard eard money just to see him...hoping to see him lose...he rarely did.

CM Punk can be that heel. WWE needs that heel.

Re: Chris Jericho's Theory on Punk's Heel Turn

That is actually spot on but its not really new in terms of the reasoning behind it. We all knew one day that Punk would snap and he did and honestly he's the only credible heel in WWE right now. Every other heel has just been fed to Cena and that's that but im glad they made an exception with Punk atleast for now.

Re: Chris Jericho's Theory on Punk's Heel Turn

Only way Jericho is right is if Punk stays heel until he retires or close to retirement. Yeah there hasnt really been a #1 heel thats cuz when wwe has a cool heel and they start getting cheered they turn em face and they lose what made them awesome.

Hopefully Punk stays heel for years and is actually the guy opposite of Cena or any top face. A stable would do him wonders for longevity purposes. Add in younger guys and have him mentor them ala Evolution and you have the best present heel and poyential future ones.

Re: Chris Jericho's Theory on Punk's Heel Turn

He has a point, Punk's currently as of today still going forwards in terms of trajectory. The last 4-5 weeks atleast Punk has been #The Guy, obviously its down to Cena's injury but with his heel persona he's able to cut loose more and I think it's benefiting him because they wouldn't do Punk vs Rock if it was face vs face or even a potential match with Austin wouldn't work if he wasn't a heel.

He's redoing the wrongs from his face turn last year, which came about because fans weren't going to boo him, he's going to try to get to the very top as a heel so when he does turn face again he should be able to compete with Cena as top dog.

Re: Chris Jericho's Theory on Punk's Heel Turn

Makes sense. You can't be #1 with Cena around, but you can at least be the #1 heel.

Better to be a star in hell than a slave in heaven and all that.

What you hatin for proof?

If Jericho's right, he's right. Not much to dispute. It just so happens that he's right most of the time.
