Re: Chris Jericho's Theory on Punk's Heel Turn
Jericho had become kind of a Shawn Michaels ass kisser for the last few years but other that, he's right about Punk having to be a #2 to Cena no matter what.

Makes sense.
But can he? I doubt that they will allow it.

Yes he will, he already snagged some of Cena's fans with the goatface mask, and everybody is into his yes/no chants. It's only a matter of time before everybody realizes that Bryan is more fun to watch every week and would rather have him out there than Cena.
Cena already has most of the audience boo him, so as the #1 face, it can happen. Cena will usually be booked as the #1 guy in the company, but not as face or heel.

That's actually very interesting. And as much as I didn't like Punk's heel turn initially, this is the most exciting his reign has been.

Clearly you haven't been watching THE RYBACK getting that Cena torch passed to him by both Vince and Cena. THE RYBACK clearly is being groomed for the top spot hitting his finisher and winning all his matches and getting PPV last match main events, while Bryan gets to continue dying as Hurricane Helms 2.0 tapping to whoever they want and hiding behind Kane in terror of the scary wrestlers that want to hurt him. I mean, what really is a top face in VinceLand: the musclehead who always wins and has the fans believing in him, or the often-trumped up cowardly midget vegan who cowers in fear and clearly doesn't even believe in himself, never mind fans believing in him.

I do have one question for anyone who might feel that Dwayne Johnson "owes" the business. Is it just him, or is it anyone who moved on to other things? Should Luna Vachon get heat for running a towing company instead of working on RAW? Should Maven be critiqued on his Home Shopping Network bits instead of wrestling?
Or is it only the ones who go on to highly visible careers in movies that owe something? Why do Johnson (who left after putting people over, doing the traditionally "right thing") and Lesnar (who did not; except for making Eddie a legitimate star) get called sell-outs who "forgot where they came from" when someone who retires to do some regular job get credit (as they should) for moving on and making it without falling into a sea of addiction?

Re: Chris Jericho's Theory on Punk's Heel Turn
Dammit Jericho, write a follow up to Undisputed!
He's right about this too. I see it as another point where the line between reality and onscreen blurred, Punk as BITW face had gone as far as it could (the heel turn was coming the moment he came back, it was inevitable) and it was clear that Cena's going to be the main event regardless (i.e. at MITB, the only reason the Raw MITB went on last was because Cena was in the match. It makes much more sense for a title match to close MITB because you have the tension of whether the corresponding winner will cash in) which would understandably annoy any worker not named John Cena or Vince McMahon, so it was decided to use it onscreen. A heel Punk gets to call Cena and Vince out on this whereas a face Punk can't without turning heel.

Re: Chris Jericho's Theory on Punk's Heel Turn
Is this Kayfabe or what? How can Punk be #1? because he is a heel?
A few months ago John laurinaitis was the top heel of the company by a fair margin, does that mean he was no.1? Hell, R truth was the top heel of the company for a short time following his heel turn. What's jericho trying to say exactly?

That Punk wants to be THE guy, but he can't be the focal point as a face while Cena is face, so he's gonna try and be the focal point as a heel.
