Re: WWE Expected To Bring Back Attitude Era Stars Earlier Than Expected
its obvious that vince has no confidence in the upcoming stars or is to worried about merch sales (cena), bring back the past will not do them any good honestly i would love to see austin and rock wrestling again as much as the next guy but by not giving new/current talent the opportunity to main event or even get some heat is not a good idea, to be honest though there is some good talent getting more recognition now with the likes of sandow, clay(shame about the gimmick), cesaro, and ryback

It appears bringing back part-time/Attitude Era stars will be the formula going forward the next six months heading to WrestleMania as WWE tries to stop the bleeding on a thin talent roster over-exposed three hours at a time on Monday nights.
|
The roster isnt thin, WWE. It's fucking misused, there's a distinct difference.

WWE's answer to every negative aspect: try to re-live the past. I no longer think bandaide solution covers it. It's more like trying to cover a gaping wound with a small bandage, even before cleansing it. For the WWE, the past is the present so why expect a future..

Beating John Cena MORE THAN ONCE is the instant ticket to legitimizing someone. Now, that's just an example - it shouldn't be Justin Gabriel. But it isn't coincidence that Punk became a top start the moment he beat Cena, then beat him again. Randy Orton peaked when he was going over Cena. Wade Barrett was at his most over the night after Hell in a Cell 2010, when he beat Cena. The same is true for others.
Cena will be a top star no matter what, but if you borrow some of his heat and transfer it to someone else, they'll be over. Imagine how over Dolph Ziggler would be if he beat Cena two or three times.

Why should it be Cena? Why not guys like HHH or Taker?

Maybe with the introduction of that kiddie version, they are playing with the idea of keeping kids interested with that show while making the main show a bit more attitude like and if parents have a problem with the attitude part then it's their fault as they should only let their kids watch the kiddie version?

Perfectly stated. What's gonna happen when Guys like Cena, Orton, and Punk are in retirement? There will be no wrestling business because bringing back the era we're in now isn't memorable enough to even be worthy of a comeback.

I hope they bring back Steve Blackman, Val Venis, Ken Shamrock and D'Lo. The real stars of the Attitude Era

Re: WWE Expected To Bring Back Attitude Era Stars Earlier Than Expected
The problem is that there is no way for the younger talent to get on the map. Who do they beat to become a star? Cena? Punk? There's not 10 Cena's on the roster. They need people to get the younger talent over. They need some of the AE stars to come in and put over the new talent, whether it is promo work or in matches. They're not going to get over if they have not earnt the victories they need.

why should it be haitch or taker? Theyre part time wrestlers whose best years are behind them. Let the talent on the roster properly develop already.
Bringing back older talent for quick ratings only works for so long. One day they wont have that crutch to lean on, then what?
