Re: Stone Cold responds to CM Punk insulting him in Raw
The match would be better than Rock vs Cena.
Austin elevates himself in 'big' matches more than any superstar in history.
Austin had this rare ability to elevate feuds to stuff of legends.
I may be exaggerating it but Austin vs Punk would be as good as Austin vs Rock in terms of segments and promos. But no way in terms of star power

the best promos I've ever seen.
Hulk Hogan on CM Punk-I think CM PUNK has stepped up and proved he can hold his own with anybody in the ring and anybody on the mic,he's on a roll. HH
My favourite wrestlers:
1.Stone Cold Steve Austin
2.HHH
3.CM Punk
4.Brock Lesnar
5.The Rock

Secondly Punk has mainly feuded with Cena, who is to him what Rock was to Austin in terms of wrestling competitors. Austin's biggest feud wasn't with Rock though, so Punk actually did have a point.
Austin would let him speak as much as needed to have a great show. This isn't real, it's scripted entertainment, and Austin didn't pick Punk to perhaps be his opponent in a final match just to have a one-sided feud.
And if anything the "what?" thing won't look too good on a guy like Punk. That works when the opponent isn't telling the truth but if he does it comes across as a lack of being able to handle it intelligently. That's why the promo work can be interesting, because Austin will have to play it right not to come across as the unintelligent of the two.
Rock or Vince was Austin's biggest feud from an all around standpoint. His best feud though, is pretty subjective.

And why is that? I'm as big an Austin fan as anyone, and definitely a bigger Austin fan than a Punk fan, but if he's coming back, he needs to put the guy over. Only one person could benefit from this scenario and it's not Austin. It makes no sense bringing these 40+ year old guys back to just walk over the current talent. What kind of statement does that make when a movie star and a 48 year old with a broken neck and bad knees can come back after 8 to 10 years away and beat both of your top guys? It's ridiculous. Now at least in Rock's case, he's wrestling part time at big 4 PPV's so at least he's not just stepping over somebody and then leaving but Austin is coming back for one match and then he'll never wrestle again.

Yeah I think this is a waste. I had better hopes for Austins last match, or few matches, than CM Punk. Especially if Austin loses to this nobody. Could be that way, its like Austin wants to pass the torch to him. I guess few people see the problem with a guy who drew 6.0 ratings, with competition, passing the torch to a vanilla midget who is drawing 2.5's, with no competition.
I'd pay to see Austin berate Cena on live TV, on the other hand.

The fact that Austin wants to work his last match with Punk, and no one else, pretty much makes him the opposite of a nobody and has him standing out of the pack quite a bit. The fact that you happen to not like him is pretty insignificant since Austin's opinion matters more than yours (or mine) in that specific regard.
People need to learn how to differentiate their own opinions from factual statements.
Your little ratings comparison is pretty funny as well, as the competition was one of the reasons wrestling in general was red hot. Not that anyone today is any Steve Austin, but it shows how little thought you gave it.
