I got annoyed when Cena and Cole were like "OMG finally you're back!"
He was gone a week, lets not pretend it was a massive departure.
I'm slightly bugged because there is an angle this could sort of work. Punk has never beaten Cean clean, Cean was distracted at MitB (so was Punk before hand but two stains don't make it clean) at SS HHH didn't spot the foot on the rope. This years SS Punk pinned Show rather then Cena and of course NoC was a draw. One could say that Punk had had a good reign which he had fought well but he had never DEFINITIVELY proved he was better then Cena and that there was no competition right now better then Cena. Basically Cena could say that Punk hadn't proved himself the best in the world but he was very good, rather then saying Punk was irrelevant because he wasn't Cena. The moment Foley could have been talking about was proving once and for all he was The Best in the World rather then just beating Cean again in a slightly different setting for shits and giggles.
I recorded RAW and completely skipped the opening segment because I figured it would be your typical Cena promo where he kisses the host city's ass, tells jokes that aren't funny, makes his opponent look like shit and ends the segment by screaming at the top of his lungs in a failed attempt to convey a serious tone.
Looks like I was right.

This is not any different from any other promo he does where he tries to be funny. I'm a fan of Cena have been for longer than anyone on these forums I bet, but even I cringe when he tries to be funny. Every now and then he'll crack a good joke, but yesterday was not one of those times. He's gold when he is serious and intense.
I thought the random and public flirting with AJ was odd, and awkward. There was no point to it.
The rest of his promo was typical crap. The goat noise thing he did is just...well...
There was no point, but it looks WWE may want to start a storyline of who to choose for AJ: Cena or CM Punk/Heyman? I really don't see the point in it and really it may just be best to pretend Cena never asked her out. Cena doesn't need AJ. AJ doesn't need Cena. Unless Aj and Punk become a real heel power couple and AJ is no longer GM then they don't need eachother either. Like you said pointless all around.
