Re: Ryback Discussion Thread
People need to stop pretending that squashing jobbers is all that got Ryback over with the fans. Brodus Clay and Lord Tensai squashed jobbers, didn't out so well for them did it? Ryback has the presense about him that makes the fans go crazy when he comes out, also he is very athletic in the ring, its a combination of many things that made him get over and is the reason he is going to HIAC as a No.1 contender, he IS talented.

That would be pretty dumb as I see it. The only outcome that's semi-logical is that Ryback continues to fight for the title but in a triple threat with Cena, and then gets phased out without being pinned.

This is why Brock Lesnar has to interfere. That would lead to Ryback, the ass kicker, wanting to beat up Brock Lesnar. So Ryback would become part of the Survivor Series 5 v 5 match. It wouldn't be anticlimatic and it would get Ryback out of the WWE Title scene.

Tensai and Brodus Clay weren't given easily digestible catchphrases and handicap squash matches, let alone for a period of six fucking months. It's utterly nonsensical to compare them to the material that Ryback has been given. I don't hate Ryback but come on, be sensible. In fact I'll say it now - if Ryback wins the WWE title at HIAC and someone says 'he deserves it', they're a complete fucking idiot.

Wrestling is a business and he'd deserve it simply for being over. I'm not that big a Ryback fan but that much is obvious.
Over atm > someone who paid dues nobody cares about.

Id rather has someone who is over with the crowd then some old fuck that no one cares about.
Del Rio squashes mid carders every week, no reaction at all.

Ryback beat useless people nobody's heard of. Tensai, while not having won handicap matches, was put over big names like John Cena, whereas Ryback hasn't been put over a big name until a month ago with Miz.
Like I said earlier, Clay hasn't had as big of victories as the other two, but he has the grandest enterance and two hot dancers coming out to make him relevant each week.
They each have had their own things the other didn't. Tensai with the biggest victories against the most relevant opponents, Clay with his enterance and dancers, and Ryback with a few handicap match victories.
You can't just say Ryback had something the other didn't, but not mention that Ryback didn't have the things the others did. Ryback is simply the best of the three, and it doesn't have anything to do with handicap match victories against unknown, weak-looking jobbers.

Re: Ryback Discussion Thread
I will agree with SinJackal, in that Ryback is better than Tensai and Brodus. I still don't like him, but I dislike him less than T or B.
Haven't seen him go a long match, that doesn't mean he hasn't, because he's working house shows with Punk and has been for a few weeks now. We'll find out a lot about him over the next few weeks and including next Sunday. I didn't want to believe the stuff about Vince's hard on for big guys, but this Ryback stuff is making me a believer.

Ryback has the most important thing of all though, probably the only thing that actually matters...a gimmick which works and wasn't designed soley to try and appeal to a small child (if anybody at WWE thought that 'Tensai' would help Albert get more over with adults, then they should be fired, and the Funkasaurus is a very obvious kiddie gimmick).
Ryback didn't exactly set the industry alight as 'Skip Sheffield'.
You could have fed jobbers to Skip Sheffield all day, and the majority of older fans still wouldn't have given 2 fucks about him.

Re: Ryback Discussion Thread
To be honest i'm really surprised that Ryback has been thrown into the title picture so soon and i don't think there is an easy fix here. If punk wins, they undo all the hard work that has gone into Ryback and If Ryback wins, he won't hold the title long and for that reason, they will have ruined the whole build-up and run for the thing. I can see Ryback getting taken out before the ppv or during the ppv and Cena will have to step in of course. Probably Lesnar will jump him because of the Heyman connection or something like that.
Two things are for sure: Ryback Can't lose and neither can he win the title in any scenario that makes sense with any long term planning in mind.
