I don't believe they will ever have a match, or that Goldberg would ever return to WWE. At best, Goldberg MIGHT go to TNA for a bit after getting back into shape. Goldberg quit WWE because he didn't want to job. He stated it in a video recorded interview. He didn't use the term "job", but roughly he said he wanted to remain being a super hero for kids, and that losing wasn't was super heroes did.
I don't see him returning because he'd have to job to Ryback if he did.

I think legends deals are signed so WWE can have the guys appear in video games. They might have added Goldberg to the game and needed him to sign a contract for it.
I'm not sure if Goldberg intentionally ripped off Ryback's catch phrase to make a point. . . or if he subconsciously liked the line so much while watching the show that he says it without realizing it now.

This guy described it perfectly. Goldberg was one of the most entertaining in ring workers of all time, one of the best pure athletes of all time and one of the biggest stars in history. I doubt Ryback wants to compete with that. This is clearly a WWE article to continue Vince and HHH's obsession with Goldberg/WCW in general. Like I said before, there's a chance that Ryback himself never said it. They should have said "Goldberg was Goldberg, Ryback is Ryback" without doing all these stupid comparisons because without Goldberg, there's no Ryback. Lesnar was in the same position a decade ago, and Paul E handled it the best way possible to make him the first Brock Lesnar. That's what they need to do with Ryback.

Goldberg did get better pops during that match, and of course you can get more popular than Ryback is now (dunno why he said that). But in fairness, you posted a video from basically the peak of professional wrestling popularity vs a huge pop from this shitty era.
Getting the pop Ryback got now, when crowds usually don't give a shit anymore since everything's predictable and the guys who get all the important matches are better talkers than they are exciting wrestlers, A Ryback-type pop is pretty impressive. Only other guys getting that level of pops now are Cena and Orton.
Ryback just started to get over, so let's see how it plays out before guaranteeing that he won't be better than Goldberg.
