Knowing that he's a green rookie and hand-picked to be groomed into a star, implicitly means he will NOT be a star, you can't force lightning into a bottle. In the best days of wrestling, people got themselves over via a connection with the fans, not like today where WWE just force-feeds someone to us until we accept them.
They think they can turn him into the next Austin or something but the reality is, Steve Austin worked his way up from the Ringmaster days in WCW and evolved slowly over time into SCSA. Ryback is just a manufactured FCW wrestler with no real experience, thrown into a Goldberg-esque character. He can't talk on the mic, he can't do his own finisher half the time on big wrestlers, he is overly stiff and dangerous in the ring, the IWC will turn against him soon enough and if he keeps botching, the casual fans will too.

I assume you mean talent-wise, yeah he seemed like he could go longer matches back under that gimmick. I wager it's probably because he had an ankle injury that prevented him from doing alot of jogging or cardio workouts.
However, if you mean gimmick-wise, I'll disagree. Skip Sheffield gimmick was a 100% jobber gimmick. |

Loved how Ryback lifted Primo and Epico tonight. He looked impresive. I like the guy, I wish him the best.
