Re: Ryback Discussion Thread
Thought he did fine last night, the stuff with Cena was much better than the stuff with Punk though as they literally rehashed the exact same spots they've been doing already. That last table bump looked pretty brutal too.
The only problem I have is he is starting to fall into the Cena routine of doing the exact same moves in the exact same order every match. There's nothing wrong with having signature moves but it doesn't have to be so damn formulaic and predictable, the guy has a larger arsenal of moves than they are letting him do right now
I don't much care for the Goldberg comparisons but one of the reasons he stayed hot was because he had a big group of heels to play off in the NWO. These 3 new guys could be a good foil for him if they book it right, keep him busy with them until the Rumble when he will almost certainly be a contender to win. Assuming of course Vince doesn't change his mind and just feed him to Cena.

Re: Ryback Discussion Thread
He was gassed after 5 minutes - what an absolute joke. Like I said before, once he's exhausted his crappy moves of doom, he has no idea what to do next. Also, I'm convinced those loud "feed me more" chants that just suddenly came out of nowhere, were piped in, because I couldn't see anybody in the crowd chanting.

There's not much else they can do when they hot-shotted him completely past the build up stage and into the WWE title picture. He's just not ready for that kind of title, which we can see that they also feel in how they are booking the fights (and I'm talking about who performs what, not who's winning), and therefor there's no other way than to make him be a loser.
Had they instead built him up by going through midcarders and so on, making the ones that like him actually get to long for him to get his hands on a main eventer, they would have had something else to use.
As for "only so long you can push someone", he hasn't been pushed long at all. His first relatively proper match was at a PPV main event for crying out loud. And the only thing he's ever lost is two matches to the WWE champ.

Ryback has the potential to be in the same category as the former group that I just mentioned, but WWE seems to be dead-set on making sure that the truly casual fan has no idea who he and therefore doesn't connect with him.

LOL, nobody outside of wrestling knows who Batista, Orton or Edge are.

Same way as Ryback, Goldberg, Stone Cold, The Rock, Hulk Hogan, Kevin Nash, John Cena, Batista, Scott Hall, etc.? Also "average tall douchebag" isn't 6'4". That's more like 6'0" territory. 6'4" is pretty goddamn tall. tbh by your own standards, you should hate every wrestler (including Ryback) other than Big Show, Khali, Andre the Giant, and King Kong Bundy.

Talent/charisma draws. Not size.

You obviously don't understand the idea of those who have presence and those who don't. Give up while you still have your dignity.

You obviously don't understand the idea of expanding on anything you say because you're mainly talking out of your ass. Give me your definition of "presence", cuz the way I see it, both Ambrose and Reigns have plenty of presence. (Rollins remains to be seen, I'm not very familiar with his recent work. Never was all that into him as Tyler Black.)

Re: Ryback Discussion Thread
Ryback FEELS like a star just being around and seeing him with your own eyeballs.
None of these developmental jabronis give that same feeling. It's really quite simple. You either get it or you're too dense to get it.

That's because they were piped in. They are pushing this guy like they pushed Cena in the past. They want to shove him down out throats so you will buy into it and think he's the next big thing.

Completely agree and exactly what I thought. There's absolutely no way those chants were real. The crowd weren't into him at all and it's only a matter of time before people turn on him.

That's an idiotic and 100% baseless argument. For one thing, THEY JUST DEBUTED. Skip Sheffield sure as fuck didn't feel like a star. Second, I could just say that Dean Ambrose feels like he should win the WWE championship tonight (I don't think that btw). That's basically no different from your argument.
btw, you do realize that a certain somebody else used to be a "developmental jabroni", right?
