Re: Ryback and live RAW.
OP you could say that about every single wrestler who appears on RAW. There's always a chance anyone can screw up at any given time on live TV.

This. The 2010/11 Mega push they gave Orton still hasn't worn off with his string of losses recently. If Ryback loses more than once(maybe even just once) his heat is most likely gonna die(bar the feed me more chant which is more over than Ryback himself). I am looking forward to his matches now to see if he fucks up.....Damn that sounds petty but think he's my least favorite wrestler ever

remember: in 95'-97' WWF was in a very big trouble, perhaps one of its worst eras ever, in terms of ratings/ popularity, etc. the absurd is that we can remember perfectly to what ear it lead us from 98' and so on (hmmmmm..... AE, somebody?). and the rest is history.
so ok, WWE is down now, but 1 year from now I see a sensationic rise, when a new legendary era is burn. and I can tell you that Ryback will be THE main reazon for this.

Ryback is not Stone Cold Steve Austin.
I highly doubt we see a boom period in the WWE any time soon. You need a generational talent to be able to carry the company into a boom, and no one there today is a generational talent like Austin/Rock was, IMO.

That doesn't necessarily means that the WWF sucked in 1996 and 1997. It was pretty good in those years, but WCW was better.
The WWE is shit today.

Wrestling would have to actually be relevant again too. In the current climate where people complain about the simplest of things you can bet your ass that wrestling won't be relevant for years.

Re: Ryback Discussion Thread
I will be very happy if Ryback won at HIAC.
It will show that WWE still has some balls and wants to change things up every once in a while. Going with the predictable route with Rock ending Punk's reign at Royal Rumble is not going be entertaining, just predictable and useless. Rock DOES NOT need the WWE Championship and we all know what's going to happen at Wrestlemania 29, it'll be Rock/Cena 2 and Cena will win. Basically the next few months are already out there for everyone to see.
Give Ryback the belt, take the risk, and shake things up. If it doesn't work, give it back to Punk. But nothing is going to happen unless they stay to the status quo and keep Punk the belt until Royal Rumble to give it to The Rock.
They have a potential star right now in Ryback, give him the WWE Championship and strike while the iron is hot.

Re: Ryback Discussion Thread
I feel WWE ,indeed, has some generational super-stars in its current roster, who can make the revolution, and Ryback is the most likely one. just look how big is he now, only 1-2 months in the mid-top card picture, while the biggest name he have beaten is Ziggler. most of his victories are against totaly nobodies, and look his stardome rise. now, imagine how big will he become when he beats (and he will!) names like Mark Henry, Brock Leaszner, Daniel Bryan, Randy Orton, CM Punk, and top faces like Shamous and Cena. surelly, he will beat the majority of those superstars mentioned, in one year or so.
now, Ryback is the biggest one, but you have also guys like Daniel Bryan that can be the next Bret Hart/ Kurt Angle, like Shamous that can be one of the best powerhouses ever, and like Antonio Cesaro that can be one of the biggest heels we have seen in a while.
put in superstars like Kane (for example) that WWE can make him once again the ultimate monster he was back in his early days (a storyline like that is enought in order to bring back the excitement among the fans), and superstar like Cena, who WWE can turn heel and make one of the biggest shocking moments in history, without hurting his stardome.

the iron isn't hot. Ryback still sucks. I just hope he doesn't embarrass himself.
