LOL at people saying that it isn't cm punk's fault that the ratings are low. I bet if Del Rio was WWE champion all of you will be saying it's Del Rio's fault similar to last year when he was champion

The booking has been terrible lately, its been crap with Cena so I doubt its Punks fault. the issue is they turned him heel right when Cena needed time off so he can't be the top face while Cena heals, leaving a huge hole where the next top babyface should be. Its WWE's fault for not building more babyfaces, instead they create heels to be fed to Cena...now look at the price they pay.

Blaming punk is silly, prior to his heel turn he was getting the biggest pops out of everyone on the roster and shifting as much merch as Cena.

Poor booking is the main problem. A weak midcard, lack of continuity and thought into storylines is the main problem. its becoming unwatchable due to lack of SUBSTANCE throughout the whole 3 hours.

You can't judge Punk's importance simply by looking at the ratings. He also sells a alot of merch and he headlines most live events.

It doesn't matter if Punk is gaining viewers in his segments or matches he should be blamed for other wrestlers losing viewers in their segments or matches even if he wasn't there. Guys the show is crap, how can you blame the guy when others are losing near a million viewers. If Punk wasn't there, then god have mercy how awful ratings will be. And what's with the lowest in 15 years, it's a 3 hours show its not like before. 3 hours show never did good only if it wasn't advertised for big stars to come.

He is a solid worker, obviously, but his mic skills are grossly overrated on the Internet. He talks a lot but it never means anything, just pointless whining.

The Bret Hart comparisons make a ton of sense. Really great workers that can't carry the company and both led the company into the toilet while on top. Too bad WCW is gone now because without WCW forcing McMahon to change things this thing might never get fixed.
An anti-draw would by definition be someone that loses viewers in his segments. Look at the ratings breakdowns and realize your error.

He isn't a huge draw by any means, but then again that means nothing to anyone that dares to stand for his own opinions instead of just following others. Your breakdown of his promos seems about as good as your grasp on what an anti-draw is. I don't care whether or not you like it (that's opinion) but the description is just funny.

I don't see where you're coming from OP with your first paragraph. Since when did they seem to be taking more pressure off Cena and putting it on Punk? Is that the reason why they turned him heel? Punk's been the same since last summer. He just got an edge (which many have been clamouring for) to his character nothing more since the turn.

I'm not synonymous with draws and shits of such but from what I've read he isn't a draw by any stretch of imagination and if last week's show is anything to go by then my comment is justified. Inb4 'CM Punk wasn't the reason for the ratings drop', I'm not blaming him for the ratings decline.

Yeah CM Punk and Cena are sharing the load that's why we've seen Punk main evented every single PPV this year, yeah, OP?
There's nothing like sharing the load between the two. Cena's still the #1 guy in the company and will remain so for a long time to come (and I hate to say this).

They're never competing. If they were he wouldn't have been turned heel.

Thanks for telling us why the show did bad ratings.

You're welcome.

I'm enjoying punk. The protection he is getting as a heel is the first I've seen in awhile and I'm really enjoying it. A threat to cena is just what the product needed. As for the ratings...I can understand the drop in ratings and the punk hate. I'll be interested to see how much difference cena is actually going to make when he returns.

Didn't take long for this thread to get derailed into the ratings thread.
