Because I am and have always been a 'pro-wrestling' fan. There's an element of 'if you don't get it, you won't get it' because the entire entertainment aspect is camp and always has been. But then, I'm also not one of those who shits all over the product week in and week out.
I love professional-wrestling.
"One thing I found out through my experiences in life is that if I don't like something, usually it's me who has to change." - Eddie Guerrero
I watch because I want to. As simple as shit gets. I'm not one to get on an internet wrestling forum two seconds after the show goes off air and complain and bitch about how shitty the product is while still buying merch and paying for "shitty unproductive" pay-per-views. Whoever does that either lacks a backbone or is plain dumb.
I'm watching because I enjoy CM Punk and the things he's been involved in. That's the only reason I watch, although I can find entertainment in other things here and there as well. I just need something consistent to be there in order for me to follow it.
I also try to focus mainly on writing about the parts that I do like, since I think that if you focus on the things you don't like you deserve to be unhappy (goes for all sort of entertainment since that's easy to switch around).
From about 1991 - 2007, I'd watch wrestling for technical moves and I always loved WCW because they were more about matches than storylines for a good part of the 90's. Then I moved over to WWF in about 2000 as they were getting WCW's top talent who all fought technically or with a lucha libre style. Now I watch for just 3 reasons:
1. CM Punk & Heyman (never know what's going to happen with these two)
2. I don't go out on Monday anymore (the gym is too packed and I get out of work at 7 anyway)
3. I watch while chatting with my friends on voice over IP. It's always more funny when you're watching with someone else. We keep screaming I AM THE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS at each other and we were pissing our pants at the whole R-Truth conspiracy storyline
Chris Benoit, CM Punk, Stone Cold, Ric Flair, Antonio Cesaro, NAKAMURA, Okada, Devitt
Haven't watched in years, it's an absolutely horrendous product. TNA has been by a long way the better promotion with a much superior show for a year and a bit now, even when Russo was booking it and it was shit I still watched because it was more entertaining than the E.
