he is serious when he fights. isn't all that matters? Its not like he is like Santino Marella or even Zack Ryder.
No no it does not
Evrey top face is serious when they fight but the promos are the important part of the cycle
If a match has little to no promos or a promo thats thrown out the window by an idiot who cant act serious then the match might aswell be on a random raw

Re: Why Does Everybody Hate Sheamus?
If there's one thing that he does have, maybe the only thing, it's charisma, and in spades too. I think that the problem is everyone seems to think that charisma is just a synonym for microphone skills, but it's not.
Main reason is that they are turning him into Cena II
I have 3 reasons for disliking
1. He beat Daniel Brian in 18 seconds at Wrestle Freaking Mania. If it was a Smackdown match it would not have been as bad but this was Wrestlemania and whoever thought this was a great idea is an idiot (even Vince if it was his)
2. Long title reign. Faces and long title reigns DO NOT WORK. The faces are supposed to be chasing the title. If he's beating the shit out of everyone, why the fuck would I want to feel for him and cheer him?
3. No character motivations. What the fuck is he? A guy that says fella all the time and smiles like an idiot? When is the last time someone really pissed him off? Back in the days, the big faces (by big I mean in size) were usually ganged up by factions. Let's use Undertaker for an example. How to antagonize the Undertaker when he was a face during his American Badass days? -Stalk his wife, fuck with his bike, screw him out of a match every now and then, beat the crap out of him with a chair, injure his hand. When is the last time we saw a storyline injury?
Honestly Sheamus should have lost the title in July/August. Dolph Ziggler could have had a nice summer run and then lost it in October/November back to Sheamus or to someone else who then would lose to Sheamus. This is exactly what killed Cena in the first place. Forcing him down our throats. The WWE doesn't seem to learn from their mistakes. Cena could have been the best face of all time if they had built him right.
Not Removing Until
-John Cena Turns Heel
-Triple-H Turns Heel
-Christian wins a world title again (or retires)
-The Miz Turns Face[b]-Done!
-Someone gets thrown through a table.[b]-Done!
-There is an Inferno Match

"If you make a stupid thread, I will look for you, I will find you and I will red rep you,"
He supposed to be the Celtic Warrior, and I've heard that in his early days in the UK, he was really into Celtic mythology and tried to portray himself as being an actual Celtic knight. Would anyone really be opposed to him being some kind of barbaric badass like that again?
Time to graduate. Time for a nostalgic, Instagram ass.
On top of what's already been said, I think it's because he's a prime example of what the 'company' wants and not what the fans want.
Wrestlemania 28 was a very significant night. Sheamus won the Rumble and became the first guy to successfully challenge the world champion at Wrestlemania in 5 years. But it wasn't some epic encounter at all. It was an 18-second opener. For the World fucking championship. And he beat an indy darling - who was also getting over naturally on his own merits - to do it.
That was the definition of a forcefed, manufactured push to try and get him over. Instead the fans chanted 'bullshit!' and spat it back in WWE's face.
Sheamus hasn't recovered since. That whole turn of events has left a sour taste in fans' mouths which won't go away for some time. WWE thought that would give him even more momentum but all it really did was fucking kill anything he had going for him.
