" they would have some control over his outside endeavors"

FUCK WWE. Seriously, what is wrong with them ? They don't had the right to control Jericho's life. What's next ? He will had to marry the wife Vince had chose for him ? It sound like selling his life to Vince

Jericho put him on that road, yes. You think continuing feuding with ADR would have legitimized Punk? IMO Jericho revitalized him after HHH and Nash shit all over him...which was amazing considering how badly WWE fucked up the Punk/Jericho storyline. That is what Jericho is needed for...to legitimize the new guard. He's not the only one BTW. They keep bringing back older stars for promos when they should use them to put over newer guys. Crowds don't believe in these newer superstars and they end up flopping. That needs to change while there is still time. Jericho v Bryan feud could be epic if they don't 'PG' it down. Plus Jericho is the only one who is happy to build new stars. They could always do it better but for God's sake....DO IT. FAST.

WWE not treating Jericho like the top-level talent he is, what else if new? Chris Jericho has to be one of the most misused talents in pro-wrestling history. Had they booked him better, he could have been up there with Rock or Austin in terms of popularity, but since HHH hated him he was relegated to jobber to the stars status.

WWE always wants full control over their workers, wasn't that one of the reasons Maria left? Works out nicely for Vince that he has his workers sell their souls to him, but they are still classified as 'independant contractors' so he doesn't have to pay health care or pensions for them.

Vince can blow all WWE's money on a shit movie studio, throw money at any celebrity that will come his way, and give Linda tens of millions to waste on a failure of a political campaign but he can't give one of the best and most loyal workers a easier contract?

Which would you rather be?

A rockstar in a rock band or a watered down former version of yourself in a terrible weekly wrestling show?

Hell, even if it was peak of AE I would still prefer to be a rock star.
