Kofi's delivery of lines on Main Event this week was absolutely awful. I'd have enjoyed an actual Kofi/McGillicutty MATCH, but rushing through the match so Kofi could remind everyone that he can't speak left a bad taste in my mouth. It did make me think of this topic, however.

And now he'll probably get ANOTHER pointless jobber title run too. Why in the FUCK does the WWE always do this with him? He's literally almost never without a championship. Last time he was IC champ it was complete filler till Barrett won it. He legit lost every match he wrestled while champ. Is that where we're headed again?

he does suck on the mic and i don't like him in anything other than short tv matches.

There was nothing awful about Kofi on the mic on Main Event. He was actually serious which he's rarely allowed to be and delivered a good promo. He actually showed a little debt to his character when talking about the serious side behind his smile. If anybody was awful on Main Event it was Miz. He's just loud and talks fast. He's the Dane Cook of mic workers.

Yeah he wasn't smiling, but it was a pretty uninspiring performing. It was more so how the camera would capture a po-faced Kofi in the middle of trying to recite his lines. You have to perform for the camera as well, old boy.

A guy who's allowed to talk once every four months isn't the best guy at speaking before large crowds and television cameras? Hold the presses.

I agree that his performance was exceedingly underwhelming, but his character is so completely lacking in nutrition and substantive motivation. Think about the segment with Larry King--it was cute, but where was the backstory? Why not suggest that Kofi and King cooked up an alliance so that if Miz became excessively confrontational, Kofi could jump into the fray while using it as a launching pad to get under Miz's skin and eventually wring a championship shot out of him despite not really earning one? Would actually give his character a shade of gray and make him just a tad bit more interesting, for one thing.

I honestly can't remember the last time he had a live promo outside of the last week. That's like, what, literally four months or more where the most talking he's done was on commentary in a tag team.

Come to think of it, how was it that R-Truth and Kofi become a tag team in the first place?

It was never explained.

They were thrown in a few random tag matches until they beat Primo and Epico for the titles.

Indeed. They don't create storylines to explain tag teams or alliances anymore. They just sort of start happening in random matches for no apparent reason whatsoever.

Agree entirely with the OP.

His character has bored me to death on many occasions. His recent tag team run was baffling and provided the final nail in the taqg division coffin!

Although as others have said.... there is a hell of a lot worse out there!
