Re: WWE Is Paying for the Last 8 Years
this is the worst this company has been in since i started watching in the mid 90s, atleast in 95 they had bret/hbk/taker
right now there is only 1 guy that makes me watch, cm punk, other than him there is not even 1 other small thing that moves the needles for me
plus there is nothing coming up, ryback will be a bust, no other guys have been giving the chance, and even if vince starts to push new guys it will take time, which is why he should of did this 3-5 years ago
fact is cena/punk are the only two that can really draw, and both are aging and worn out, vince can make the calls to austin/rock and whoever but these are short term fixes
is short wwe is screwed and ratings will continue to be down and its there own dam fault, this is what vince gets for pushing away real wrestling fans with this cena crap
i hope your happy vince, for every kid/women that you gained with cena you lost 2-3 real fans, and are those same women going to be watching in 10 years, i think not
vince is pissing off the real fanbase that made the company what it is today and is pandering to "barney and friends"
i for one hope the rating goes even lower, and lower, whatever it takes to wake vince up

Re: WWE Is Paying for the Last 8 Years
If WWE relies too much on Cena without investing in the future, when Cena is gone, they're gonna have a real tough time.

Exactly. It seems they decide to push one guy and bury all the others. That's so stupid.

But HHH is greater than Taker at the very least on par with him.
Mic skills - HHH
Wrestling skills - HHH
Charisma - HHH
Hell, HHH is a bigger draw than Taker.
HHH is easily in top 3 greatest heel of all time, Taker is neither among greatest heel nor greatest faces of all time.

Not sure about their drawing power in the past, but WM25 and beyond I'd say Taker's a bigger draw because of the Streak

Re: WWE Is Paying for the Last 8 Years
What I want to know is when did the mentality change regarding what makes a good wrestler?
It seems that at some point in the past 10 year, WWE has drifted from formulas that worked for over 20 years.
-A bad ass is now a funny guy.
-A muscular build is now an average joe build.
-In-ring skills are now more important than charisma.
-Looking tough is now replaced with lookin like a pretty boy.
Why don't they go back to what was successful in the past?

Re: WWE Is Paying for the Last 8 Years
Everytime I see "money" in an angle, wrestler or gimmick...the WWE seems to take the opposite direction of what I and probably a lot of people would have take. They don't push the guys that are getting over, they push the guys they personally like.

Well I wouldn't go that far.....yes, WWE has killed stars such as Barrett, R-Truth, and killed the momentum of Punk's 2011 run, but sometimes they do have foresight...they never committed to Ryder because they knew his ring/mic skills weren't up to par...plus they killed Tensai's run after realizing he was shit. Also, unlike Ryder, they listened to the fans with Bryan...or in other words, had no trouble pushing a guy who actually had talent (unlike Ryder).
They should capitalize on their talent more though, R-Truth and Barrett shouldn't be so low on the card...

Re: WWE Is Paying for the Last 8 Years
Just look at what they did to Daniel Bryan. He could've been a genuine top star for them with such a weak roster, instead they present him and forever tainted him as a midcard laughing stock who jobbed to AJ. They absolutely fail at every instance in maximizing their talent when the timing is right. They always wait either too long, or they just refuse to pull the trigger. Guys like MVP, Kennedy, Morrison, Umaga, Carlito, Miz, RVD, Kofi, Christian, Barrett, and countless, countless others could've been more than what they actually were, but they've cultivated an atmosphere where if you're a midcarder showing any confidence or self-respect you're looked as arrogant and hard to work with, and if you don't, they think you're a beta midcarder and you're only chance is if someone high up likes you.

I do have one question for anyone who might feel that Dwayne Johnson "owes" the business. Is it just him, or is it anyone who moved on to other things? Should Luna Vachon get heat for running a towing company instead of working on RAW? Should Maven be critiqued on his Home Shopping Network bits instead of wrestling?
Or is it only the ones who go on to highly visible careers in movies that owe something? Why do Johnson (who left after putting people over, doing the traditionally "right thing") and Lesnar (who did not; except for making Eddie a legitimate star) get called sell-outs who "forgot where they came from" when someone who retires to do some regular job get credit (as they should) for moving on and making it without falling into a sea of addiction?
