- Expect more WWE Legends to appear on RAW to encourage WWE Champion CM Punk to face John Cena at Hell In a Cell. The idea is that the Legends will convince Punk to face Cena so he can earn the title of "Best In the World." Jim Ross played the role on last night's RAW after recent appearances by Bret Hart and Mick Foley.

- After last night's RAW, most within WWE believe that official have no idea if John Cena will be ready for Hell In a Cell or not. There is talk of having Cena wrestle the Hell In a Cell match against WWE Champion CM Punk but then take some more time off.

So Punk's been the champion for 317 days now and he has to "earn" respect? He's already beaten John Cena many times,Why does he have to do it again? Just like Punk said,Cena has to EARN his spot to fight the "Best in the world" and the "Best in the world" is a the WWE Champion. These legends just keep looking dumber and dumber when they whine about how they want to see Punk vs Cena and HIAC.

Hopefully though,Punk does face Cena at HIAC and beats him and makes it seem as if he really hurt Cena to the point where Cena gets "injured" and takes time off,Leaving Punk as the "Cena Killer" and for him to brag about it for a long ass time to all the legends.

If this was played like last year and the infamous pipe bomb... it would be fantastic. But instead the WWE is trying to make Punk out as the bad guy despite every one of his points pretty much being spot on. It's maddening to watch and you can only shake your head in amazement at how disconnected WWE is from reality.

#45 ·
It's not even being disconnected from reality, It's their own WWE World that they're disconnected from. How do you NOT call YOUR champion the best in the world??? ESPECIALLY holding it for nearly a year. They're disowning the company as a whole. Why should the wrestlers even want to go after the title when they're seeing that it won't earn them respect??
Now wrestlers should only want to go after Cena..... Ugh, whatever... I would say we're all over thinking this but it's all just common sense!

If they are even hinting at Cena not even being able to wrestle and having to take some time off, it's probably true. I don't see them trying to force even more injury on their top guy.

This whole storyline makes no sense, and once Punk goes over at HIAC, we probably won't ever here about it ever again. In the time between after HIAC and the Rumble, Punk will probably feud with Ryback, and pick up the feud with Cena and maybe Rock after the Rumble.

My Rumble prediction is: Rock and Cena are the final two, both of their feet hit the floor at the same time so it creates a Triple Threat at Wrestlemania between Punk/Cena/Rock.

It be cool if it was jesse ventura cause we never see him. he but a different spin on it, agreeing with what punk that cena getting shot after shot. But instead of saying he needs to beat cena to be BITW, but he needs to beat him cena and destory him so it is never questioned again.
Then Punk beats Cena clean and then after the match he keeps attacking him forcing him to take that break that's being rumor.

What they're doing with Punk is stupid, why does Punk have to keep facing Cena to prove he is the Best in the World, he's beaten him clean multiple times, and few with controversy. Hell Punk was the one who GAVE Cena a title shot at NOC, he didn't even have to "earn it"

Does Punk have to beat Cena at every PPV from here till to the end of time to prove he's the Best in the World?

How many shots does Cena need? How many times does Punk have to beat him?

Idiotic WWE logic. I hope Cena just takes a little longer to recover so they don't have to do this match.

What I hate is how Punk has been face for 3/4s his reign but all of a sudden he has done dastardly things to keep his title and hasnt earned respect. I remeber while John Cena was toying with Johnny Ace Punk as a face was putting on a potential MOTY with DB. I remember him having a better matches at just about every ppv. I know wwe has a short term memory but it drives me crazy when these things arent so old.

I love the back and forths the last couple Weeks cuz when Punk involves the crowd its magic but hearing these legends say a 300 plus reign is nothing is stupid. If Punk was a champ for the first time maybe but he has been 2 time MITB winner, tag team champ, ic champ and world heavyweight champion. Has put on spectacular matches and has delivered amazing promos. the guy is the champion of the company that is what these guys fight for. How is he not best in the world. They should have him beat Sheamus and take his title too then.

I could see Punk beating Cena absolutely clean at Hell in a Cell, and Cena coming out on RAW the following night and saying it doesn't count while demanding ANOTHER WWE Championship match with Punk at Survivor Series. Seriously, how many fucking times does Punk need to defeat Cena when he's already defeated Cena on multiple occasions? This is absolutely ridiculous.

If Punk doesn't retain at Hell in a Cell, I'll be fucking pissed. Simple as that.

Most of what I think has already been said, so I'll make different point. If at this point, they're unsure whether or not Cena can go, why take the risk? I suppose there are ways to avoid him taking bumps inside the Cell, but they really need to think long term here.

There are several ways this could play out. If the thing about Cena taking time off after Hell in a Cell, then its not likely they'd take the belt of Punk, unless Cena wins inside the Cell and drops it back to Punk the next night. That would be silly, and would seem like they just wanted to end the long reign.

Or, Punk retains at HIAC, then Cena returns for Survivor Series and wins there, and drops it to the Rock at the Rumble, then Punk wins the Rumble and its Rock/Punk at WM. They could also make it a Triple Threat, since Cena gets a rematch.

Or, Punk keeps it until the Rumble and drops it to the Rock, then Cena wins the Rumble, and Punk gets a rematch. Still ends up being a Triple Threat.

The worst thing that can happen is Punk drops to either one of them and stays out of the title picture completely until after Mania.

I think the collective dream is that Punk ends Wrestlemania holding the belt. Its not impossible. Thanks for reading.

It would at least make a little bit of sense if the opponent of Punk is The Undertaker, Triple H or even Shawn Michaels or Mick Foley, somebody who is synonimous with the Hell in a Cell match. They make it like Cena is the master of the HIAC matches, he lost everytime in the cell and won only a darkmatch.

But what's really funny, many people posted here many valid arguments why this storyline makes no sense so I wonder why nobody in WWE realizes how much this storyline sucks.

And they say people on the internet are a bunch of idiots who have no idea about wrestling and that there is a reason why someone of them is in the wrestling business and why we are not.
It's really sad to see that some experienced and smart people like Mick Foley, Paul Heyman and Jim Ross take part in this clusterfuck of a storyline

not going to rehash everythng. Starbuck hit it right on the head, as usual. This whole storyline is so backwards (heel having the odds to overcome) its getting ridiculous.

I've said this before but the WWE (IMO)will miss a HUGE opporunity to have all this leading to a big double turn with Punk and Cena with Punk and Heyman uncovering a huge "conspiracy" against Punk by the WWE "board of directors"

#66 ·
That would actually be great and new and different and..... yeah, way too money and creative for the WWE to try that. Turn the Golden Boy into a political, dastardly conspirator?! We can't have something interesting like that! THINK OF THE CHILDREN!!!!!

im ok with this, but please stop saying 'to be the man, you gotta beat John Cena, cause he already did that. I'd prefer if they mentioned how it was not a clean win which is why he needs to face Cena again.

#70 ·
It's funny because they booked Punk to dissed legend after legends but he still cannot work as a heel. his smarks still ruining the show.

this guy wasn't a good top face and now he can't even work as a good heel anymore... what he can do?

guy like Jericho, have a ton of loyal fans but he know how to get heat. that's the best in the world.

#73 ·
Actually no, Jericho works as a heel and i still like him. Punk's heel work is so gold that i can't help but hate him.

#71 ·
Yeah, WWE is super reptitive with their storylines. I don't remember it being anything like this in the Attitude Era days, it seems like opponents were rotated frequently. Then again, they had mega stars like HHH, Rock, Austin, Undertaker and to an extend guys like Mankind and Big Show to rotate storylines around.

I'm hoping Punk will turn face again for too long. I mean I just can't enjoy the guy has a heel for some reason... I like to think of him as the voice of the voiceless. I mean somebody like Ziggler, I enjoy as a heel and would prefer him that way. Somebody like Sheamus, I think he'd be cooler as a heel as well.

Some guys whether I like them or not, I just seem to enjoy in certain roles.

I have to disagree, CM Punk was really getting me down as a face, they were making him smile alot and come out and telling poop jokes and acting like John Cena.

WWE cant makes big faces anymore, lucky enough CM Punk jumped that ship. He doesn't suit that role at all, CM Punk works best when he's an angry douchebag, his douche face gimmick was more than cringe worthy at times (he did give some good promos though as a face) Don't forget that Cm Punks shoot was made as a heel, he got over as a face because of that shoot

CM Punk is a natural born heel, the same way I like Triple H and Jericho as a heel. they have the full attitude and they pull it off like a boss. CM Punk also feels so much more comfortable in his role as a heel too, he just pulls of being an ass really well (maybe because he naturally is). I do want to see some of his Straight Edge Society gimmick make a comeback soon, he mastered it really well and would hate to feel like it was "just a stepping stone gimmick"

But I do agree with you about Ziggler and Sheamus though :)

I don't like the whole Legends goading Punk into the match when Punk already beat Cena 4 times and i don't care if they were clean wins or not. Punk doesn't need to prove to anyone or Cena that he is the Best In The World. He's having the longest WWE Championship reign in recent history-that should say it right there!
