When did Raw turn into the CM Punk show? This is not a hate thread, just an observation. This guy is getting a TON of airtime. He is easily the #2 guy in the company right now in the eyes of the Fed.

Well he is the champion. And there was no Cena to take time away from him or overexposed GM's like Johnny Ace or Triple H. And before anyone says AJ. She doesn't get nearly the screen time those 2 did.
And finally the show is 3 hours. Have to fill it with something.

Not only are they terrible at managing the time of a 3 hour show, but they are atrocious when it comes to managing Punk's appearances and time. Some of these appearances could easily be backstage segments instead of in ring segments, or in some cases, he shouldn't appear at all. Punk coming out to mess with JR, only to leave and come out again 15-20 mins for a tag match is just terrible quality control on WWE's behalf. Then again, Vince McMahon's philosophy has always been that if he feels something is hot, something is funny, or something is good, he will push it to the moon until it's no longer funny, no longer good and becomes terrible. This is why we have to see Punk come out three times a show, and AJ showing up five times. He doesn't think of overexposure at all.

Agreed, Punk didn't need that segment at all imo, unless Austin's music was gonna hit and blow the roof. That seg could have easily worked for Jack and Antonio. But Punk is now getting to carry the show like he should have in his early days as champ.

Plus, it's bad enough Vince now has to protect Punk as best as possible because Punk and Cena are literally the 2 names that attract people to the show. And with Orton on a very light schedule until his movie is done and Cena being injured, things looking a bit rough right about now.

Cena gets the bulk of the air time = Give time to the champ!
Punk gets the bulk of the air time = Give the time to someone else!

I agree they overexpose their top stars which is why they have zero high end PPV matches. Can you name one PPV match that could draw money we haven't seen on free TV yet? The booking is so incredibly top heavy that the main eventers get all the air/mic time, which consequently diminished the chances of midcarders getting over.. which continues the show to be top heavy. WWE is so afraid to eat a few weeks of potential bad ratings to plan for the future. Back in the Attitude Era they used to give so many midcard matches quick backstage promos that it helped build something other than in-ring images of the wrestlers, they seemed like actual characters. If you can build them in that manner you aren't stuck with "will this gimmick get over", rather you have "will this wrestler get over". One is much easier to accomplish than the other.

Because he is the most overrated, ass kisser, protected wrestler right now.
And what happened when he got too much air time? That's right the show sucked.

I'm glad they're giving Punk the time he's getting. He deserves it, even though the only reason he's getting it is because Cena's injured.

Atleast he is giving atleast 1 good promo each week with all that air time. I honestly wouldnt mind seeing him, Foley, JR and heyman talk for 2 hours straight. It would surely make for a much better Raw episode than this crap WWE is putting on each week.

Getting tired of posts like this.

Who is a big draw thats fully active at the moment? even Cena isnt drawing big numbers, Punks segments have been doing quite well recently anyway and hes entertaining many people, why should we care about the rating of a show aslong as we are entertained?
