The Rock had catchphrases that got over because the fans loved them. And he always improvised and could freestyle in a promo without even trying. WHOLE different level.
And from your additions of Savage/Foley/Austin on that list too...you kind of don't what a good promo is anyway.

Oh and no shit, obviously he'll be attacking his opponent, what else does any superstar do in his/her promo? Most stupid logic ever.
Its the same for everyone, either a promo about their goal for the future, or a promo attacking their rival/enemy.
Don't know what else you expect from promos. You want him to talk about the latest football match, or maybe the finale of the Batman series?

His promos have been mostly the same since he was drafted to RAW in 2005. (with a few exceptions here and there..)
It's gotten worse since the product turned PG in 2008 and he's become more watered down.
I preferred his rapper gimmick because at least each week his promos were different. His promos were what got him over in the first place.. it seems most people have forgotten that -_-

Just about everyone cuts similar promos, don't know why Cena gets ragged for it, oh wait, people still think it's cool to hate on him.

Update it with comments beneath each video how each one is similar to the next, then proceed to link john cena how he continues to talk the same old shit over and over and he'll proceed to ignore it..but yeah i remember the last raw he smiled because no one was cheering his bullshit i think even the children are catching on.
