Re: The Crowd Edits

I think it helps in matches as a match with a live crowd is a decent bit better than a match with a dead crowd (from a sound point anyway).

But I would never use a SD reaction as an indicator to who is over or not.

I'm watching you...

Re: The Crowd Edits

I asked my mate about this who was at smackdown and he said the crowd was basically dead during the segment

Re: The Crowd Edits

Smackdown always uses fake cheers, every TAPED broadcast that WWE has. TNA did it when they were taping impact weekly or bi-weekly. Since it's a taped show, they have 3 days to edit what was good and what wasn't. When it's live, anything goes, it's a totally different ballgame.

Yeah, it's a shame the WWE does this. Maybe if they had better writing they wouldn't need to do this.

Re: The Crowd Edits

During MIZTV (HORRIBLE segment btw), there were fake cheers, fake boos, and fake LAUGHTER!
The laughter sounded worse than anything, straight from a laugh machine for a sitcom that doesn't have a crowd.
You could hear individual laughs like they were in a studio or something. Absolutely embarrassing!
I cringed a ton during MizTv, can't even believe I sat through it.....
That describes it so perfectly awesome, I'm laughing 5 minutes now only reading this. xDDDD

no it wasnt, the fake laughs were for sheamus. it was horrible.
Jeah. For a SHORT moment I really thought "WTF... they're laughing about Sheamus bad jokes SO LOUD?!"
That just couldn't be possible. That was just too much!

The most ridiculous thing this SD was the RAW recap with D-Bry's orgasm, I laughed my ass off when they piped in laughter for a fucking >>>>>RECAP<<<<<
Yep.. I first wondered why I understood the old lady so clearly, and then the laughter came when she FINISHED her sentence. Like in a fucking sitcom! :'D

Re: The Crowd Edits

I got a good laugh out of the segment with Bryan's orgasm of Yes(s). I had missed the first hour and a half of last Monday, so it was fresh to me seeing it yesterday.

I actually didn't know that SD used recorded crowd responses, but I don't watch smackdown too often and when I do I'm oblivious to how authentic the crowd sounds. Particularly yesterday I was in a conversation while the MizTV segment was going on, so I didn't notice.

Re: The Crowd Edits

i actually stopped paying attention to it cuz it was driving me nuts too. sheamus always gets fake laughter after his corny jokes on smackdown. they've been using a lot of fake cheers, boos, and laughs for the past month. the sad thing is i still enjoy smackdown about the same as raw even though it feels like the b show. instead of improving the product they want to trick us into thinking it's great. that's some great forward thinking there vince.

Re: The Crowd Edits

Yeah, that's ridiculous. These fake cheers, pop and boos are really obvious, and it ruins the show. I'd rather hear a silent crowd that this crap.

Dashing no more.

Re: The Crowd Edits

This was partly the reason I stopped watching Smackdown. The piped in reactions when you can clearly see the crowd just sitting there with a blank stare made the show painful to watch.

Blame the dead crowd. The more the crowd is dead, the more piped cheers you get.
