Default Jobber putting new heel star over?

Many of you will probably want to choke me for saying this, but Zack Ryder is a true jobber, but he has one glaring positive about him. Ryder is easily one of the more popular names in the WWE at this moment outside of Punk, Cena, Miz etc.. I for one don't get the popularity behind this man other than the fact that he went viral online with his self-marketing gimmick.

He can wrestle, but he doesn't have the "it" factor in my opinion. For crying out loud he is going bald, and he wears orange, and purple tights. His "Woo, Woo, Woo" catchphrase is corny enough to easily go over on a simple WWE crowd (minority I hoped). However, one can't deny that this man's popularity may lead to another potential new star as well. I just hope the WWE lines the right guy up to go over on Ryder, and really turn themselves in to a top notch heel.

With the amount of people riding the Ryder bandwagon I truly feel the WWE has the potential to put someone else over at the moment, and at the expense of Ryder. There is one person I feel can put Ryder away on ambulance leaving tons of fans worried about their favorite internet star. My personal choice has to go to Brodus Clay, and I think he needs to destroy one of household names like Ryder to get himself back on the map. Putting Ryder out with a vicious beating not seen on Raw in years could really help his monster return, and this wouldn't be some no name jobber, but the most well known jobber in the wrestling world, Zack Ryder.

No "it" factor? Ryder is just flashy and quirky. That doesn't mean he doesn't have it.

Are you stupid or something? Not seen on Raw for years?
Nobody is gonna risk Ryder who sells so much merch to Brodus Clay who will only be relevant for a little bit like Mark Henry.
ZACK RYDER IS A MOTHERFREAKIN' STAR. He's not going anywhere for that sorry fat ass.

Don't bet they won't do it. Vince is exactly the type of person that will have his favourite guys stomp all over somebody he doesn't really care about, whether they're over or not. As a Christian fan, you should be well aware of that by now.

But it won't happen immediately. Brodus will finally debut next week and put Morrison on a stretcher, ending his career. Then he'll go beat a few low carders, while Ryder wins the US title at TLC. After that, Clay will break Ryder in half like a Twix bar.

When Ryder came out at MSG, the crowd exploded. When you get that reaction at MSG of all places, you've definitely got something.

This is why the IWC doesn't get much respect

Is the WWE going to have a Raw/PPV at MSG every week?

I think we all know that at this point the man who's going to put Brodus Clay over is John Morrison. Clay's debut depends on when Morrison's contract finally expires.

Zack Ryder, on the other hand, isn't really a jobber, but a talented, yet misused, mid-carder that Vince McMahon STILL secretly hopes is nothing more than a 15 minutes of fame nobody.

No "it" factor for Ryder? If anything, Ryder is one of the few guys that does have the "it" factor going for him. Plenty of guys in the WWE get TV time, promos, etc, but none of them has had the effect Ryder has had on the audience. When's the last time you heard the name of a midcarder get pops as big as Ryder?

The bottom line: Whether you like him or not, whether you can "take him seriously" or not doesn't matter. The WWE can decided on how serious Ryder is, and frankly they'd do well to make him really look like a threat in the ring considering he's one of a few superstars who can get a crowd reaction in an era that features mass amounts of dead crowds.

He pretty much got squashed by Del Rio tonight. Stupid move. Del Rio winning is good booking, but it's this idiotic idea of "He's just a US Champion contender, he shouldn't really stand a chance" that kills credibility. I remember seeing World Heavyweight Champion Triple H take on Tajiri sometime back in 2003-2004 and while you never believed Tajiri could possibly beat Triple H, you at least got the idea that, within kayface, anybody could win at any given time. That in a professional wrestling company, a person's place on the card doesn't determine whether they can beat someone or not in kayfabe. Squash matches happen, sure, but usually when the person squashing is someone who is immensely powerful I.E. Kane, Mark Henry, Brock Lesnar, even Triple H.

But on the topic of Ryder, he easily has more charisma than most of the roster, he has the size and the look. It remains to be seen whether he really has the mic skills or the mat skills to be THE top guy, but he's not absolutely horrible in either department from what's been seen of him. Hopefully he continues to improve.
