Well to stick strictly to the subject of why people on this forum hate Rey Mystrio let me compile a list of both my own thoughts and an educated guess as to the opinions of the IWC.

(1) He is to popular with kids and as an adult male I can’t cheer for him without feeling like a tool of the WWE’s marketing machine. I and many others have the same problem with John Cena.
(2) Despite the fact that he isn’t horrible in the ring by any means he has gotten older and been plagued by injuries that have slowed him down a lot. People that remember him in WCW remember a faster more innovative Mysirio. The same thing happened to RVD at some point, some styles of wrestling, just like some gimmicks, don’t age well.
(3) Rey is a cruiser weight in a federation with no cruiser weight belt or division to speak of. He had good matches agents other small people but you can only put him up against guys like Kane so many times before it gets old fast. He simply cant have a great match with anyone, he dose great with Eddy Gerrero and Matt Hardy and could probably have good matches with guys like Kendrick but he is limited ageist most of the larger roster.
(4) He has been horribly booked ever since Eddy died. Making him an underdog is one thing but making him the world heavy weight champ is another. All of us here at WF can easily see the politics involved in this decision and it made us lose respect for him plus it looked ridicules.
(5) He is stale plain and simple. He use to have a cool factor about him but now he is kind of annoying and doesn’t match up well with most people. Plus he really doesn’t have any mike skills.

If the WWE had a cruiser weight division he would still be entertaining but right now, feuding with Kane for no good reason over his mask, it’s just painful to watch. He hasn’t had the best luck with feuds in his WWE career.

I dont hate Rey by any means, hes never been one of my favorites but ive always enjoyed watching him in action and I reckon that when hes used correctly (eddie storyline), he can be up there with the best.

People just get mad that he gets so much pop. I personally like the guy. He's not the best on the mic but he puts on an entertaining match. It's not rey that people really hate. It's moreso the fact that he's like hardy and cena and is a child's wrestler. It's an even bigger thing. Nobody is good all the time. I don't think he's ever been heel. In this business, fans have the expectations that a wrestler should be good on the mic and in the ring which is fair. Without a heel run, he's pretty much a goody two shoes. The eddie thing pisses some ppl off too including myself a bit. Of course, none of this really is his fault.

If i was a kid, I would be a huge Rey Mysterio fan. I liked it when he put his mask on the kids head yesterday on RAW and then did his head-to-head thing with the kids with Mysterio masks. I mean I can see why kids like him.
Hes a good wrestler, but due to his size its hard for him to have a good feud with the big guys.

But WWE nowadays is for everybody. Its just like a all-star concert. You dont like every act but you still watch it to see your favourites. Try to enjoy the matches, thats what I do.

I really hate him. He used the death of his "friend" to get a World title run,which made me sick.This after winning against Eddie for about 6 months straight (this also made me sick). And when he gets on the mic i just want to kick a fucking hole in the t.v screen.
When he was holding out for a contract,i wish Vince would've just fired his short,fat ass
