It would make for an interesting turn of events, but WWE needs to realize they run the risk of newer fans turning on Mysterio if they do this. Why? Because fans are curious. They're going to really
WANT to see Mysterio without his mask. Keep in mind, all the fans of today aren't all stay-over fans from the Attitude Era. That being said, an unmasked Rey is something A LOT of them have never seen before.
Naturally, they're going to want to see him without the mask, starting with the moment it's even mentioned.
So, if WWE builds toward a (logical) match with the stipulation that Rey loses the mask if he loses the bout, then fans are going to root for Kane in a round-about way. No matter who's
meant or intended to be the heel, fans are going to cheer for the idea of Rey dropping the mask. It's just human nature. It's just curiousity.
In any case, I don't much like the idea. Maybe if Kane still had his mask, and they made it a Mask Versus Mask situation. But when only one of them wears a mask in the first place? Meh.
As for Kane donning his mask again? What's wrong with you people? It's all about compromise. No, Kane doesn't
need the mask. And, as has been said, it inhibits his breathing during his matches. So why not have him wear it out during his entrance
only? It satisfies some fans' interests, and it keeps the mask off him during competition. Plus, we've seen him without the mask for years now. So there's no harm in having him march down in intimidating fashion, and then remove the mask when he steps in the ring.
No, it's not a huge change. And no, it's not really necessary. But it's cool, and I gotta admit - I'd just like to see a bald Kane sport the mask in Jason Voorhees-like fashion.
