this sounds suspicious... was this aired on TV? if not then it definitely is fake... because the WWE would not let him wrestle if he was SERIOUSLY hurt as they say he is last night... i believe he is finishing production on his new movie that will be coming out next year...
neck injuries (or what Adamle says "necks" injury) are very dangerous and you do not fuck around with them... so with this news here in this post, i now seriously doubt it is real...

Holy crap, I can't believe people think EVERYTHING is a work. It's not.
John Cena, apparently, has had this injury for awhile now. He didn't get the injury at SummerSlam. It was only recently that he started feeling numbness in his arms which means his injury got worse from actually trying to wrestle through it. In other words, he aggravated it.
PLUS, rumor sites reported this before WWE did. They were the first to report that John Cena had an MRI.
WWE has nothing to gain from taking Cena out. It doesn't matter if he was filming a big movie, they would never pull him out of a huge main event just so he could go finish up his movie.

no way that this is a work: come on, no way WWE would pull perhaps their biggest draw out of a main event for any reason whatsoever if it's not legit.

Yeah, it was the night after SummerSlam. The match was Cena vs Rhodes/DiBiase in a handicap match. I guess it makes sense that it was a previous injury and that it was recently aggravated, but they're saying it was during the Batista match at SS just like they said his pec tear was from an RKO on the announce table.
Who knows, maybe Cena's just got a piece of Kryptonite stuck in his neck?

That's for storyline reasons.
Cena has had this injury well before SummerSlam, it just wasn't very serious until now.
