Re: CM Punk on Raw *SPOILERS*
I was blown away, I think its aweome CM Punk is the champ. I kind of feel bad for Jeff Hardy though, I'll be willing to bet that this was supposed to be what was planned for him before he fucked up. CM Punk will make a great champion though, I like how they're shaking things up, its about time.

lol thats just really a funny thing to see. When they were both in ROH they were both my favorite wrestlers (I like Punk much more than Joe tho, but still) I wonder if they are still good friends, and if Joe will call Punk or something to congratulate him.

Re: CM Punk on Raw *SPOILERS*
Hmm, how to put this...
Here lies the issue with the current situation. I like Punk as champ, its new and refreshing. However, the ratings are not going to like Punk as champion...
He is in the same spot as Samoa Joe, the IWC/Indy marks LOVE Joe/Punk to death, however to the casual fan that dwarfs the IWC and Indy Marks as viewers of WWEs product, they truly do not care about Punk, about his beginnings at the bottom and so on and so forth. Take examples from TNA, they built Joe up to this killing machine, he put on spectacular performances, so they give him the belt, and he HAS DONE NOTHING with it, ratings did not go up, they plateaued, that is because NO ONE can relate with the character in the ring, they are not marketable to the CASUAL audience. While Raw has a good champion they are gonna be rewarded with terrible ratings, unfortunately. The fans care about Cena, and Batista now. Look at the match with JBL did you here a Punk chant, no...you hear voices in unison chanting for CENA. Everyone is creaming themselves that they have a transitional champion, for what? For reality to set in and come to pass that MITB that could have been used for something awesome was shit on as a way to bring a title to Raw, and for the TOP heel next to Vickie to be crapped on to the extreme in a 10 min TV period? And why are people marking out that he finally did it? He pinned a man that got beaten down by Batista. He did not wrestle this heart wrenching emotional match for an hour and overcame the odds. People get way to nuts about this.
Do not take this as and "I would rather see Cena/Batista/etc." as champion rant. Take this as a simple opinion.
I feel sorry for WWE that they cannot provide the same entertainment as they did in the days of Austin...Its sad for me to be watching wrestling for so many years, and to see what I grew up with go down the tubes...
Punk got hosed, and Raw has a belt. Its sad cause Punk with time could have been huge, its like Orton's first run with the strap. Short and pointless. Punk drops it to Cena at GAB and will never see the belt again for a while, ala Orton. And let it be known that if Cena "blings out" the WHC I will actually make the limo storyline reality.....

I disagree that the average fan wont like Punk, last years Survivor Series he got the biggest pop on his team, and lets not forget that Triple H and HBK were also on that team. Punk wont lose it at GAB, I mean christ all the haters were convinced he was gonna lose it to JBL last night.
The more that haters hate, the more I love it.

I'm sure you're probably right, he's not likely to have an iron-man (or superman) like reign, however, regardless the man is a world champion. In the record books it doesn't say "Batista did all the work" it says "Winner: CM Punk. From: Edge. Date: 6/30/08." That's it my brother.
I fear you may be right, he could just be a transitional champion, but rather than sulk in the negatives, I'm going to enjoy seeing one of my favorite wrestlers do something thought unimaginable 3 years ago, 2 years ago, 1 year ago, 1 month ago, and 1 day ago. And sure, they COULD have waited until WM25 to do it, but the fact is they didn't - and if one were to assume he does lose it as soon as next week for example, the fact is they showed the faith/commitment/time investment/all that good stuff into Punk when they could've picked a lot of people - I'm sure, DAMN SURE, he'll be there again.
And regardless of all of that - say he loses the title next week, never wins it again, never gets close, at least it was somebody besides one of the main 3. I can at least be thankful for that. It might not be the most "dignified" win ever, but a win is a win, and I'm just glad they threw a kink in that chain of boring/repetitiveness that was the last 3-6 years of Raw.
