This title has been my favorite ever since the old days when HBK had it back in his prime. We can all agree that this belt doesn't hardly have any significance anymore. It seems more like an accessory than a championship. Every Monday night I hope that at least something new will happen with it. I've gotton to the point where I'm almost satisfied just as long as it gets defended. This title has only been defended once in a great while, and that was only because Jeff was getting suspended.
Now I would love to see this championship brought back to it's greatness with wonderful fueds, great matches, and hot rivalries built around this belt.
So my question is, what do you think should happen with this belt? Who should have it, who should fight for it, what type of matches should revolve around it? I'm anxious to hear any ideas.
I think Rey Mysterio should move to RAW and have it. Have Morrison feud with him for the belt and we are going to get a great feud for the belt. Having Mysterio with the IC Title will make the fans notice the belt again and Morrison working as his opponent will get him noticed as well.
The best Intercontinental Champion in my eyes will always be The Ultimate Warrior however is a disgrace to what the WWE has done to titles now days the only two titles in the company that means some thing are the WWE and World Heavyweight Championship.
I don't think Rey Mysterio winning the IC belt will bring it back to its glory. Rey does absolutely nothing for me and shouldn't be given anything but the cruiserweight belt. Yeah, I know he was WORLD champ. And, in my opinion, that was 1 title run too many for him.

I think that they have enough major players to make the IC division stand out again. I'd love to see MVP, Mr. Kennedy, Jericho, and possibly even bring a big star back into the IC hunt. The one thing that I don't like about the WWE now is that some of the superstars think they're too big for the IC now. A guy like HBK.
Let the match at Judgement Day be for the strap. Let HBK win the belt and feud with the above 3 guys. Maybe throw Jeff Hardy in for some high spots. With those 5 guys you could pretty much run any type of match you wanted.
MVP/Kennedy -- young, up and coming stars, fresh faces who really haven't been pushed to their potential...both great on the mic
Jericho...great on the mic...fan favorite...usually puts on decent matches and has enough in him to pull a three star match into a four star match
Jeff Hardy...I'd keep the belt off of this guy, but keep him in the hunt just for the wacked out moves that he does..
HBK...this is the guy to put the belt on...let the other guys chase him...his experience can only help the other guys improve
After a year with these guys battling for the belt and the IC title will be back to where it should be. As a top tier championship.

I Love how people say young, up and coming stars when talking about Kennedy and MVP when there both a couple of years older than Jeff Hardy and only a couple of years younger than Jericho.
MVP should be in the Smackdown World Title hunt he doesnt need to be moved to Raw to get lost in the shuffle.
IMO the best way for the IC title to regain its importance and prestige is for Jericho & Hardy to feud over the belt for a couple of months and then bring someone young and new into the feud where they would feud with either Hardy or Jericho or Both for the IC title and eventually win it and because a Hardy/Jericho feud would have restored some importance back to the belt the young superstar actually gets a pretty decent rub from winning the title. At the moment without an establish star or two to restore some prestige back to belt it aint going to mean anything for any new star to win it. After this i would move Hardy and Jericho into the Raw main event scene to freshen that up.
There needs to be some new people holding the IC Championship. I like the idea of Mysterio and Morrison. Maybe throw a face or tweener Shelton in there, too.

One of the most popular WWE superstars wouldn't bring back it's glory? Rey Mysterio is a good wrestler and he's incredibly over. Having him with the belt will help the belt greatly and like I said you could move someone like Morrison to RAW to feud with the belt against him. Rey Mysterio+John Morrison= Quality Matches.
Not sure if this has been tried or if it would work, but how about unifying the Intercontinental and US Championships then have the Champion effectivley cross promotional, i.e. appears on and defends the title on Raw, Smackdown and ECW. It would widen up the size of the division and one championship might mean we see it defended a little bit more often, especially on TV
