wwe should have this title defended AT LEAST every month. the contenters on raw could make this a very competitive division for the title. we've got jericho, jeff hardy, umaga, mr kennedy, carlito, santino, hardcore holly, william regal, even jbl could fued for the this title. there is so much potential here, wwe just needs to creatively make it happen. the title has a credible holder at the moment, now it just needs credible booking and fueds.

The IC Title would look great on Burke right now.

Just imagine if they got rid of all of these jobbers and just had the mid-card, upper-mid-card and main eventers. There would be so much more room to work with and the titles might even get used.

Jobbers are necessary to hype someone as dominant. I think Funaki and Nunzio would be enough though.

And you dont have to be a Hardy mark to see that, though a Hardy hater may be blind to it.

Just to point out your lunacy
Everyone gets a big pop upon his return. It's interesting to note in Colin's recap video how over the fans were when he beat Estrada to win his contract. It amazes my that Hardy is over at all? I remember JBL's comments at Wrestlemania 23 during the MITB match. I'm sure all you Hardy marks remember it well.

There's Jeff Hardy, climbing the ladder, he's inches away from grabbing the case. All of a sudden, he spots Edge layed out an a ladder on the apron. What does Jeff do? That's right, he flies off the ladder. And you know what. It was one of the moves that made that match. Now, sure it's bookings idea of what/who wins, but shouldn't that tell you something of how the company views Jeff? He's there to be used as a car crash when needed. Take a look at the thread discussing his suspension and see how many people think he's over in there. How many people are just fed up with him?

There's no way that Hardy is more over than HHH. Even Cena is more over than Hardy.

I'm not as much a Hardy hater as I am a wrestling fan. I just can't respect someone who doesn't respect the business, and clearly Jeff doesn't respect his position as a WWE superstar. How many times has he been suspended? What about the time that he deliberately botched a move on RAW to land on his neck; you remember that, it was when he was suspended, but told everyone that he was out nursing a neck injury. Tell me how his actions have shown us fans any respect. Jeff's relationship with us is an abusive one at best. He treats us like crap and then comes back saying that he'll do better and work harder and be there for us, the fans. Then after the next suspension or release says the same thing. I'm sorry, but I just don't buy into that.

This thread is supposed to be about the Intercontinental Championship and how to make it better. The things I posted were my thoughts. You don't have to agree with me and I'm sure that alot of people don't. That's what makes the internet what it is. You have your thoughts, I have mine. But I think that anyone who starts throwing out insults and name calling is completely inappropriate. It's easier to throw out insults than back up your point with intelligent thoughts and expressions.

How about switching brands with the US and IC titles like they did the the World and WWE titles a few years ago.

I'll just post what Good Ol' Jr, Jim Ross wrote in his blog on his website

Great to see Jeff Hardy, or is it Harvey, back on Monday Night Raw. Arguably, Jeff got as loud and as enthusiastic reception from the Raw fans in Detroit as any one who appeared on the broadcast from where I was sitting. Jeff is a major star waiting to happen and let’s hope all the stars are aligned properly to where that story can be told. Many factors go into this evolution to get to the very top of the food chain but none more important than the talent himself. That’s not a Jeff Hardy exclusive, but goes for everyone.

I think that HBK should be given the IC title for a while, and wrestle as a heel against Jericho and Jeff Hardy. There could be some great ladder matches. I think that the title should go backwards and forwards between Hardy and HBK until, eventually, HBK should drop the title to Kennedy, who should hold the title for a long, long time.

Yeah. I made a suggestion kinda like this a few pages back. My idea was along the lines of giving the title to Shawn for a little bit to bring back some of the prestige and have some of the potential on RAW chase him for the belt. This could build up new rivalries between them all and make the belt seem less of an accessory and more of a championship.
