In light of Nia Jax...yes Nia Jax putting on a 30 minutes wrestling clinic in the main event on Raw it's time to address the elephant in the room, the women get far too much Tv time.
Tomorrow's smackdown will likely have a fairly lengthy main event MITB women's ladder match.
A lot of people are celebrating this like it's a good thing, it isn't. Women shouldn't be rewarded just for being women. If they're as good as the men or they're particularly talented then give them time, main events, PPV gimmicks matches etc. The Sasha Vs Charlotte rivalry received a lot of time but those 2 earned the spots they were given by virtue of being elite performers.
Having Nia, Dana, Bayley and even Emma (who I'm a fan of) in the main event of Raw is pathetic, they've done nothing to come close to earning that spot
If the women deserved it there would be no issue but they don't and it's time to stop pretending they're as good as the men. Most of the women don't deserve more than 2 minute slots.
So I ask you, is it right the women are given these slots and receive the opportunities when so many vastly more talented guys don't even make it on tv each week? Is it right that Dana Brooke has more main events than most the roster? Should Nia Jax really be carrying a main event match on raw when the entire male roster is more talented than her?
The positive discrimination of the women in the company needs to stop. Handing them opportunities they don't deserve only devalues the significance of when they're actually earned.
2 minutes is too much for Dana Brooke, she shouldn't be on TV at all.
On the whole 2/3 minutes or so is a fine amount of time to given the women each week considering the talent of the roster. (Though it's always closer to 10 because they have at least 2 backstage segments a week which is where most of them are at their best anyway)
What isn't fine is putting Nia Jax in a 30 minute main event when she's barely fit enough to even stand up that long and could barely breath in the last 5 minutes.
Don't expect the same to happen here because of the division had no momentum or story going into this, but with the right storyline or feud it can draw and has drawn.
I can't figure out why they did a gauntlet match. It placed uselsss jobber like losses to three women and put Nia in a position to have to go way longer than she should have been asked to go. They could have still done the drawing. Just have three black ones and two winners and the ones that drew the winners got to wrestle. Sasha vs Nia one on one would have been far better, imo. Nia wouldn't have needed to rest so much and wouldn't have had to keep using the ref count to do so. This is what happens when they overthink protecting someone.
Wait. Do people really think Shirai and Hojo are just going to be allowed to work unlimited? Well I got some bad news for you. Neither of those two if they ever get to the main roster will be allowed to remotely be able to do what they can.. Hell Hojo was already told to ditch her elbow because it's one of Bayley's highspots... Charlotte is the only one that gets to do flips from the top turnbuckle

The real main event for Raw is right at the end of the 2nd hour. That's why they put the segment with Lesnar and Joe in that slot. The 3rd hour is where they always drop in viewership. The 'main event' at the end of the show is a paper main event.
I was going to agree with you up until you said Sasha and Charlotte got those history making moments because they're "elite level performers", Charlotte is good at doing backflips to outside the ring and Sasha banks has the worst submission move in all of wrestling. This chick is like 4'9 and scrawny as all hell. Seeing her make someone tap out Charlotte's size or Even Dana Brooke just looks bad. They're not elite level performers they're just close with Triple h and he always pushes his agenda and friends as the best. Sasha vs Charlotte was absolutely horrible,it dragged on for months with meaningless title trades. And damn near neck breaking botches. So let's not pretend like they're good level because they're not. Basically the reason you made this thread was simply to tear down the other non four horse women while placing Sasha and Charlotte on a pedestal. You were upset Dana,Nia,Emma,Mickie were given the chance to write their names in the "history books" in a very miniscule way. Why does this bother you? Bayley was just champion and that was dreadful, the four horse women aren't God's gift to women's wrestling. Kimber lee,Peyton Royce,Ember moon, Mandy Rose,Andrea are God's gifts to wrestling.
Until they get called up stop giving hacks too much time. Emma, Mickie,Alicia should be given better booking all three are capable in ring and have distinguished characters. Alexa,Nia, Dana need a lot of work and shouldn't be on screen until they find their nitch. Sasha banks can be carried to good matches by Fox,Emma,Mickie. If they want her as champion. But I don't really agree with your assessment of giving them less time.
I'm not a fan of the women, but I don't think they get too much TV time, because they don't get much. Definitely shouldn't main event that often, though.
Yeah, because being a great wrestler is all that matters in WWE :eyeroll. Tell that to Cesaro, Harper, Zayn, Almas and half the cruserweights who can do all that shit and more. If Io is like Asuka and doesn't learn english she is fucked, if she gets a shitty character she is fucked, hell, if she gets a shitty booking she is fucked. WWE is not Stardom mate, you can be the greatest wrestler in the world and people couldn't care less if you don't have personality or charisma.
I think that it feels forced and is more of a reaction to the negative feedback the Money in the Bank match received, and I'm no fan of Nia Jax being out there for so long, but the women in that match are more than capable of being in that position. Go watch Emma's match with Asuka at Takeover London and tell me that she isn't capable or deserving of being in high profile matches. Same goes for Mickie. I agree about Dana and Nia but they should be given the chance to improve against people more talented than they are. Nia reminds me of Braun Strowman, who only a year ago was considered a liability in big matches, he is a regular main eventer now and he's great. Not saying Nia will end up being as good as Braun but why shouldn't she be given chances to try and grow into the spot? I don't like the forced feel of this but the match and segment were fine.
Raw women had gotten about 20 minutes combined in the last 3 weeks, you've picked a really weak soapbox to stand on here.. Here they actually gave the division some direction and movement when it had been stagnant post-Extreme Rules, which is more than we can say for SD which is running two rematches from MITB tomorrow. If that was Becky Lynch getting 30 minutes OP wouldn't have uttered a peep, well actually he would have but it would have been about how they made Becky look strong just just so whoever ended up beating her would look stronger.
Alexa and Sasha are likely getting at least a 15 minute in-ring contract promo segment next week and with the amount of hate Alexa and Sasha get on here you'll definitely get your lulz...
But i understand your point of "if you're not going to give them GOOD stuff to do" there's no point in forcing it. Womens gauntlet to end raw/"main event" wasn't deserved considering it barely made tv the week before.
BUTTTT with that said.. "main eventing Raw" isn't a big deal anymore. Especialy if it's not hyped the previous week.
Didn't The Great Khali main event and close out the shows during his time chasing the heavyweight championship?? I see that as faaaar more inferior to women closing out the shows.
